So... 11 bindings (at least) to navigate the ship menu system, and you whine about the FSS bindings?
Fracking snowflakes...
Seriously, though, to be fair to the OP - ED needs a serious binding look over. There are so many pointless bindings that I simply can't begin to scratch the surface.
Why do we need 12 buttons to navigate the ship menu? Apple manages to let you navigate the Apple TV with 6 - it really is all you need. Maybe 7.
Why do we need a discovery mode and a combat mode? They are mutually exclusive - to the point where they don't even work in the same form of travel (discover only in super cruise, combat only in normal space).
Why do we even need to actively bind scanners? They should be passive - in the same way as your ship automatically scans another ship if you are pointed at it and it's selected, or the way your DSS used to scan planets (and still does) if you choose not to go into FSS mode). The control scheme could really use a bit of simplification - I mean, for heavens sake - why do we need to even need to bind for the galaxy map? Surely, we could just use the very same scheme as the ship, and change it *only* if we want to? Same with the SRV.
It's not as bad as a long time player, though even my high end kit is running out of available bindings at an alarming rate - but man, the newbies must really be suffering.
