Karma system - is it still coming?

Dear FDEV, is the Karma system still coming? It was supposed to complement Crime and Punishment. It's been a while. What's up with that? Is it still on the cards? Is it being actively developed? Did you change your mind? If so - is there an alternative being worked on? If so - what is it? If not - are there any other plans regarding enhancing C&P system?

Sandro left us hanging on that one and departed (somewhere). So unless one of the other team leaders has a will to take it up, it isn't going anywhere.

Wow, its been a long time since that was last mentioned by anyone.

Back in the days before frontier changed exploration and hadn't turned off elite for 2 years.

I wonder what Thargoid and Guardian Karma is like? Do they even have Karma? Do advanced civilizations actually need a karma system in order to function?

God I hope not. If someone wants to re-re-re-do the C&P system then let it not include the word "Karma" .

I was under the impression it was always going to be an internal reporting tool rather than a customer facing one, or a game feature. I guess the basic trend tracking, KPI logging functionality is already in use & we just don't see it unless we cross some threshold of undesirable activity.

I can't find a direct quote because reddit is blocked at my company, but wasn't Karma also intended to prevent combat logging and other unwanted behaviour?
How can it be notoriety then, because frankly notoriety doesn't do all that much in that regard (read = zero - it doesn't even prevent ganking)?

I have a similar question regarding Favours. Before it was applied to-then removed-from Engineers, it was originally being planned for implementation with Factions......possibly as a "currency" outside of Credits. Sadly, we're now further away from a Favour system than ever before.

The karma system should indicate the player's status by the colour of their CMDR's name. From bad karma (red) to neutral (gold) to good (green).
