I'm expecting atmospheric planets with hopefully a load of new gameplay possiblilties which some may translate to non-atmospherics too.

So worth it! Tho man, they are totally gonna up the requirements for atmospheric worlds in VR -- guaranteed.
That has been re-prioritised for a later date.

Maybe they'll announce a delay or the final part and last update for ED. My feeling and speculation ED has unfortunetely no high priority for FD anymore but can't understand why.
