Interesting systems to visit?

So I've been playing the Solo version for a few weeks now, and have progressed to a Cobra with upgraded weapons and shields. I really enjoy fighting at the two combat zones in Eranin, and it's also a lucrative trading spot as well (selling Terrain ES bought in Aulin). Trouble is, I like it there so much that I'm not motivated to go elsewhere! So my question is, what other interesting places are there that you'd recommend in the Solo game? Other combat zones would be good, and also where to go if I want to be a bounty hunter or a pirate (other than the Bulletin missions).

Go to the Anarchy system nearby at 132. There you can fill your boots with gold, plunder shipping and run into a few other pirates as well. It's where I make my.... ahem dubious living at the moment!

I'm really unlucky, I've never found gold at a USS in that system. I've been hanging about at the nav beacon liberating cargo from wanted ships jumping into the system and generally clearing out the riff-raff in the resource extraction zone.

You could visit Wyrd or Pi-Fang to see the fancy station interior they have going on there. Otherwise, I was quite surprised jumping into CM Draco, although that's a little out of the way and tough to get to with limited jump range - A white dwarf star greets you, which is really quite cool looking!

There is also a contact binary star system out there somewhere just waiting for people to be astounded. I jumped into it but my current rig is so poor that the game froze.
Come Monday.... new rig!!

There are nice looking stations around the Ovid loop.

My personal favorite is H Draconis, quite easy to pretend that's the Earth and Moon near that station. Looks great with the Milky Way in the background.

Magec 3 has an interesting moon.

Dahan, Asellus, and other systems have planets with ring systems.

More combat zones at Dahan 3, and other Eranin planets.
There are resource sites dotted around including the LP Freeport system, Dahan.

That would be I Bootis B/C. Quite the sight!

On top of that there is also the brown dwarf I Bootis D in the I Bootis system, a gas giant that is just hot enough to glow a bit, but not enough to become an actual star. Looks great and is definitely worth a visit.

Make sure that you top off your regular fuel, though. The distances to span in the I Bootis system are quite long.

One word... Hermitage.

You'll need to get rid of your class 2 weapons first, but you can purchase new ones in LHS 3262.

Good luck out there.

Hey Krait,

Looking for a pade-wan? I'm looking to cut my combat wings and make a bit'o booty, and some sight seeing would be quite upstanding too!

:)

Just where is "nearby at 132"??

Baker Platform, LFT 880.
The station is rather close to the star.

I was very impressed with the interior of Wyrd station, I'd been grinding at systems with the same old station interiors for ages to get myself into a Lakon 6, so arriving there was a very refreshing change. :D

Rakipala 1 is also a cool place. A marslike planet with giant canyons that is pretty close to the star.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll try to check them all out. :D

I've already been to a few Anarchy systems to grab the free gold, and that's how I managed to afford a few ship upgrades fairly quickly. At that time, in a Sidewinder or a Hauler, I was too green to fight any pirates, but now it'd be interesting to go back and see how I fare against them.

On top of that there is also the brown dwarf Maher in the I Bootis system, a gas giant that is just hot enough to glow a bit, but not enough to become an actual star. Looks great and is definitely worth a visit.
I was near I Bootis when I read this, so I checked out this Maher. Yeah, its reddish brown tone does look pretty striking.

The Goody Bag

Excellent thread! Lots of places to see (and commanders to kill...).

I've rated this thread in the hopes that it can stay in the foreground, with updated suggestions to all the extra goodies and locations that might not be so obvious.

Fly safe Commanders.

Go and visit this beauty spot... DN Draconis C 2 A.

Small blue moon. Overlooks a ringed planet. Currently, behind that planet are all three stars in this system. It's a pretty awesome view.

A different system, DP Draconis, has a second star that you should check out.
