Ideally I'd like to see a third tier added to the current system.
'OCCUPIED'
System is occupied and it's outposts, stations and finally planetary bases start to go offline at a rate of one a week to simulate continued attacks, and Thargoid NPCs appear in supercruise and actively prosecute and dog anyone foolhardy enough to enter the system.
Once fully occupied, the BGS puts them into an 'expansion' state, until that new system reaches occupied status, at which point it does it again, allowing them to use the system as a staging area and creating clusters of occupied systems
Elaborate please![]()
Really easy solution, kill two birds with one stone and such... have the goids attack the highest Void Opal payout stations.Won't really be of interest to EVERY player until the Thargoids start to completely destroy this starbase or that landbase and replace them with their own. And like a hive of bees, they'll chase you away, either from the area or from the entire star system as their influence grows.
Imagine trying to arrive at Founders World and find that only one station in that system is controlled by humans, while three other stations have been destroyed and now replaced by Thargoids. Getting into Founders World might prove a lot more challenging than avoiding gankers, huh?
Eliminating them would mean squadrons and wings of players to "Make the Galaxy Safe For Humans Again", taking out the Thargoid bases, completely destroying them and replacing them with human bases again.
NOW would it affect players? Not really. Not until YOUR home base ends up missing. [alien]
The 'war' has gone on for a few years now and nothing has changed. As a story arc goes, it's kind of pointless.
That's factually wrong. I realise that the conflict could be faster, but from first encounters to today Thargoid threats increased steadily. I don't believe the current situation is status quo but that it will continue to get worse over time.
For them it's just a skirmish, real war is yet to come.
Ah the ED mantra - it's coming, promise, in the meantime how about some paintjobs?
I was taking part in it and it was still boring long term. Yes, the action is fun there and then, but in the long term it was boring and uneventful, so I stopped.
From my point of view, it's factually correct. I'm no more threatened now by the Thargoids than when they first appeared. They are (deliberately) a paper tiger.
If you personally feel threatened by them was not the point.

I don't dispute your point, but that was my point.
No worries, here's a helpful link:If only all soldiers would follow this pattern, what an awesome world we could build
And did we get the link to the video this thread is about? I don't think i saw one?
I've never met a Thargoid, never felt the need to, so easy to avoid.
