A Couple of Shop Suggestions

I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but to be honest, we already have more food and drink shops than we need. This is because the peeps don't want a varied diet. They have very strong preferences for just a few types of food and drink, and pretty much hate all the rest. So until that changes, there's no sense in adding more types of shops, or even keeping all the ones we currently have.

That said, there's nothing stopping you from PRETENDING that such shops exist. Inside it might really be a Chief Beef shop box, but you can put theming and signage on the outside indicating it sells otter noses or jaguar earlobes. And unless you zoom in close enough to see what the peeps are really holding in their hands, you'll never know the difference.

Hmmm... That might actually be the solution to the current problem of peep preferences. Eliminate all the different types of food and drink shop boxes. Just have 1 generic food box and 1 generic drink box. Peeps leaving the shops would carry just 1 generic food or drink object, or a random selection from the many we already have. But provide signage for every type of food and drink imaginable, so we can fool ourselves into thinking we're providing a varied diet.

Rather than adding more shops, it would be great if we received more item selections to add to our current shops. Chief Beef you could choose a veggie burger, a bison burger, a turkey burger, bacon burger, and hamburger, along with sides like curly fries, tots, or waffle fries. Cosmic Cow Milkshakes you could choose more flavor choices or even blend Cosmic Cow Milkshakes with Ice Cream, and sell milkshakes, soft serves, sundaes, hand-dipped cones, and popsicles. A little much to choose from, at least that way we could blend shops together and pick and choose what our shops sold (which cost more money to run the more items you sold). A new shop like Confederate Confectioneries could sale items like caramel apples, funnel cakes, elephant ears, cotton candy, and deep-fried butter balls lol.

PLEASE BRING BACK OPTIONAL CONDIMENTS LIKE IN RCT3 SO GUESTS CAN ALL CHOOSE THEIR OWN TOPPING PREFERENCES WITHOUT ME PICKING FOR THEM!!!

In RCT we had dozens of shop varietys and guests enjoyed them all equally. I really don't understand why they made guests in PC prefer certain brand over others, it makes the off-brands pointless. Bad balance is obvious in PC

Eliminate all the different types of food and drink shop boxes. Just have 1 generic food box and 1 generic drink box.
This really wouldnt bother me at all because I never set food prices and rarely touch the condiments. I think its a bit silly how the devs made such a big deal out of customizing food condiments. The only ones that matter are salt and ice, but cheese ketchup lettuce? who cares it doesnt make a difference... Yet you know if you were to remove all food and just make it 1 generic type, a lot of people would get mad over it lol

I just wish we could have the generic stall from RCT3 back, where we could set any food we wanted to 1 stall (burgers hotdogs ice cream all in one, etc) I'm sure with each new update the devs will add in new shops and say "look how cool this new shop is" but it really is the last thing this game needs more of. We need rides and management and UGC and a scenario editor, not more shops

this would bring little to no value to the game, in my opinion

What I think is still missing concerning shops:

1) There are a ton of vegetarians/vegans on this planet and they would love to have a few choices as well when visiting an amusement park ( or a fair, a market, or whatever )
and yes, highly preferably 'their own' - completely veggie - shops. Not just an extra option in an otherwise (for example) fully meatburger shop because most vegetarians do not want their burger (or whatever) being baked in the meatoil !
Bonus : a lot of non-vegetarians enjoy these choices too. So really Planet coaster team, if you add more 'main food' shops in the game, make them 'veggie-proof' [yum]
It adds to the realism : vegetarians and vegans are an evergrowing group ( even more so nowadays because of awareness of ecological, global warming reasons, a new group of people make that change, either parttime or fully )
Anyways, naturally I would love to have several seperate shops, but I would already be content with one completely veggie shop which offers different kinds of food. [happy]

Less important than number 1 :

2) I'd like some more sweets, candy shops because I consider them to be a firm part of an amusement park - it adds to the joy of the experience. Also want this because I believe that people often buy a box/bag of (for example) cookies to take home like they take home other souvenirs.
(And, it is just plain simple fun to be able to place more variations [wink] )

3) Two kinds of hats/theme.

4) Two kinds of souvenirs/theme, though of course not really important because they are not visible.

I would love veggie/vegan food in PC. Though I would be happy with Chief Beef offering veggie burgers as they could be cooked separatly in the kitchen [yum]. Cosmic Cow Soya milkshakes and ice cream too. It would be nice though to have some options as more variation etc. I would like to place these options in my park as in the real world it can be difficult to find food in Themeparks, and it would be nice if my parks catered [heart]. Maybe Jacket Potatoes, Salads, Falafel?

More sweets would be cool too.

Yes that would be great! I hope they really add those choices to the existing shops
+ a soy milk option in street fox coffee shop extras

I like all given ideas, noodles too, but falafel is a must-have [heart]
Staying within vegan options:
Vegetables only, seitan or tofu wraps/taco's and don't forget the veggie/vegan hotdogs (with sauerkraut extra)

Popcorn is usually (if not always?) vegan.
Or bananas covered in chocolate (we could easily pretend they used pure enough chocolate [wink] ) + maybe in the same shop different fruit pieces on a stick for those who prefer a healthy snack.

yep, sadly enough - even for vegetarians. (I wonder about American amusement parks though, since veganism is much more common there)
This will surely improve more and more in the future. [happy] In the past restaurants hardly ever had a vegetarian dish, nowadays it's a rare exception if they don't [happy]

A few more ideas:

- Spring rolls, with a spicy, sweet and sour or coconut curry sauce. Perhaps create an oriental shop with several dish choices like the spring rolls and noodles meals?
- a lot of choices in a sandwich shop too: hummus, tempeh bacon, paprika spread and so on
- burgers: vegetable burger, spicy thai vegan burger, nutburger, ...
- sweets: coconut date bites, ...

I am hungry now [big grin].

Forget food/drink stands but maybe add souvenir stands. Themed balloons like RTC3 had w/sheriffs, parrot, and UFO Balloon. Maybe t-shirts, foam hands and maybe animal hats. Theme based sun glasses would be nice too.

haven't seen this suggested before :

a photographer "shop". not as the typical shop building, rather just the employee with his equipment, placeable anywhere direct on or next to a path (like trashbins and seats). should be nice to have in your park in very special and beauty location spots. visitors should then be able to pay for a photo if they like to have one from this location (and sure the customers should be part of such photos). when checking the employees activity we'll find his last 10 (or more) photos in screenshot size - ready to upload to our workshops. overall a more static ride, but sounds like fun to me :)

optional suggestions :
- we should be able to set camera direction and if fe. a ride is in view the camera shooting should happen when the ride is fully active or if a coaster train rides through.
- additional photowall requisits (to be added optionally) where visitors can put their heads through
- visitors should fool around, show silly faces, give us the bird etc - depending to their enjoyment status.

If we're going to get any vegetarian/vegan options, specifically veggie burgers, I would want Chief Beef to have a veggie patty wife. That way they can be cute like Pacman and Mrs Pacman.

What would I like to see from shops?
I would like to see more things like Fairy Floss (Cotton Candy), Popcorn, Plush toys and other souvenirs that peeps can carry around.

Otherwise I don't think we need too many other options for food. It'd be nice to create proper restaurant areas but until we get proper seating with tables there isn't any point in that.

Wow a veggie patty wife for chief Beef [haha]

Well, as mentioned several times on this thread, unless some peep preference balancing (say that three times fast! [big grin]) occurs, there is no point in any of the newer shops mentioned. Vegetarian stands sound great, but like the others except chief beef, They would sit empty, the vendors would quit, and you would have to start all over again. That is NOT management, it's tedium. I have set up other food shops right next to a beef shop, and the line for chief beef is around the block, while the other stands sit empty, yet the peeps all complain how hungry they are. Well, if you are that hungry, buy a french fry, darn it!!!

Now, if they figure out a better balance, I agree with popcorn and candy floss, and would love to see theme balloons, or at least the ability to choose colors, and of course other tchotchkes or souvenirs.

But number one on my list is tables and chairs in sit down restaurants. They could either set it up with a separate shop that sells an entire meal , which the peep carries to the nearest table on a tray and sits and eats, or somehow weighing all the food stalls, and some require sitting down (burgers, sandwiches, ice cream, etc, while the snack stalls, popcorn, candy floss, water et al can be eaten on the go. So if you build a chief beef, you have to provide a few tables for patrons, but a popcorn and water stand would not require tables. That is management, and it would also affect the way the park is laid out.

Agreed, tables and chairs are more desired than new shops.
Aside from all this, it would also be nice, if possible, to introduce a new style of shop, like an open 'cartshop' (not explaining it well). Would look good for popcorn, ice cream. Maybe to compliment a coming summer/beach/water add-on?
Not a must-have, but would be a very nice extra though

Or... Make the shop box chosen for food or drink is purely cosmetic, with the layout of the interior display and the default food/drink boxes dispensed from it being the only differences between them. (With of course shops that sell drinks being able to quench thirst, and drinks that sell food sating hunger.) Then we could get the option to further customize the shops by choosing the size of the menu, the base shape of the food/drink objects of each menu item...

Or if we want to get "realistic" a sufficiently hungry guest will eat at the nearest available food vendor at the cost of decreased happiness... (Basically they will eat what is available, and if it doesn't fit within their preferences they will complain about it while their happiness goes down a little. Possibly with an impact on nausea too.)

I believe this is my very first post to the Planet Coaster forum, happy to be here.... :)

I'm with Bullethead on the "PRETEND" idea. I LOVE all he different food and drink options Frontier has provided and welcome many others, but I don't find it NECESSARY. Imagining myself as a park guest n the game, if I want a burger with fries and a shake, I'm going to be very annoyed if I have to stand in three different lines to get the meal I want. But that's just me...
