Community live stream today

Hi,

Sorry guys, but this stream with Olli today was horrible.
I really was excited to see the stream, than this ... [shocked]
Such a great great game and then you put a guy in front of camera who has no idea of the game... not the best promotion for the game.

Silvarret yesterday was nice.

Just saying for the next time.

Cheers

How Ollie43 got 1,000,000 subscribers is beyond me.

Have we watched the same stream? Compaired to the other 2 guests he played with knowledge of the new options and fiddled around with it nearly on auto-pilot. Which is maybe the downside as well as it turned it into a really standard stream.

Personally had no issues with it, Found Silvarret's dry tbh and got bored and turned it off.

This kept me interested to see things and to watch what happens when you forget to do things and shows how it can all fall apart but also showed parts off and flicked through.

Each to own and can't please everyone.

Regards,

Adam

Also Ollie, did seem to play the game, he knew about the tunneling difference and other features and actually asked questions for the audience I think as he done things to try and get answers out of Ed.

I think that was handy, there is a lot of pressure in a live stream in front of people and only having a small amount of time and so think the pace he went through was good and we got to see different things. I think it also showed the water much better and artistically think it looked pretty good with shadows, reflections etc.

Right, here's what I don't understand. Everyone is giving Olli so much hate for the stream, I don't get what was so bad about it. I enjoyed the stream. Maybe he's not very good at building, but why does that bother you? For months all people do is complain about the lack of streams and then as soon as they give us some (double the number that we had before might I add) then everyone complains about the people that are in the stream. He does know the game, he has several videos on his Youtube channel, so it's not fair to say that they got someone who's never played it before. These streams are being broadcast from gamescom as a tech demo of Planet Coaster, not everyone is a master builder and its good to see people who are good and also people who are not so good at using the tools.

All I am saying is that if that is the quality of his regular streams and videos I don't understand how he got 1,000,000 subscribers.

To be honest, for me all the streams have been a little messy. But then this is exactly what you would expect. When we all get hold of Alpha 3, I'm sure we'll all be doing the same. Clicking about, seeing what's new, and just placing stuff everywhere.

I agree with Curlyriff on this. I found Ollies stream much more fluid. Obviously Ed wants us to see all the stuff so he has been prodding the guys to do certain things. Ollie listened every time and didn't spend too much time on one thing. The other com strings have been a bit stop and start. I love all these guys and have subscribed to all their channels, but in this case I do feel that todays with Ollie has been the best. [happy]

This is not the quality of his normal streams. These guys would normally spend more time on things and would edit before uploading a vid on their channels. These streams are all done live, without knowing about all the new stuff beforehand. Give the guy some credit. He obviously knows what he is doing to get 1,000,000 subscribers.

Maybe I was a bit rude, I was just disappointed. Not that I'm hating this guy, but Frontier could show much nicer stuff on their streams. It is a gamescon to promote the game. What must a guy think, who is just coming by, when he sees this "ugly" park?

for what it was (a live stream with limited time) I found it pretty good and maybe the best one yet. Flabaliki was slow, spending too much time on a bridge and not building much. Silvarret was boring but I expected it to be because building scenery isnt really fascinating in real time.

Ollie's was interactive with the chat a lot more than the others, built a lot of things and really showed off a lot of the old and new aspects of the game so IMO it probably was the best one. I personally cant wait to see de-lady-signer

Ironic seeing how more people would do the same once they get the game. Not everyone is great a builder as silvaret and not everyone will be able to create eyecandy within 1 hour while trying to pull some nice info from Ed.

At this point I feel like this is either a bit of a troll thread or OP has some serious difficulty wording his dissappointment in detail. You say you dont mean to be rude but the way you describe your dissapppontment contradicts common sense. Especially the ugly park bit makes me think like that.

Well.

There are only few from the community that have the time to go there and the rest is people from the froums.
I think it was good. One could see how casual people work with the game, which are not so hyped.

Hadn't the chance to watch all, but the times i were in it was OK. I don't like to watch people play games i will have too anyway.

I'm very annoyed at how rude the stream chat on youtube is towards the streamers really. The second community streamer today was, for me, very funny and entertaining. I think it's good that a community stream can show that playing this game can be very fast/entertaining without going into the "nitty gritty" like someone as silvarret does. For me the last stream today shows how accessible the game is. And how fast people can get results done.

I mean you guys can give the streamers some smack for not really being up to snuff, I kinda lost interest or just skimmed past the community streaming stuff too here and there.

But consider that these guys have like, an hour to do this thing in front of a crowd while being talked to and directed to do or show of certain things, there is some pressure and rush on them.
They aren't sitting comfortably at home, taking their time to do their builds or streams and so on, so of course they might seem a bit off their element.

Agree 100%. Was disappointing to see that to be honest [knockout]

There is no editing in live streams, otherwise they are just recorded videos. That is why I said that Frontier should have given them some time to play it before streaming, so at least they could have done some planning. BTW, I am glad that it isn't the quality of his other live streams.
