Please turn off Collision Detection on Scenery.... PLEASE!!

This is an absolute necessity if they want people to not get extremely annoyed with the game quite soon. The game provides almost complete freedom in regards to designing things but then all of a sudden when you want to add a coaster to an existing area or when you want to theme an existing coaster you can't turn your concept to reality ingame because of the collision system.

Just add it as a cheat but PLEASE do something about it to turn it off!!!!

I asked about this at the launch party and was told that they might reduce the hitbox or remove it in the future but they didn't really want to launch with tracks that go through itself or scenery and people saying the game is broken, which I do understand.

While this is good news (being a possibility in the future) it also tells me that some of the community is part in fault here about this option not being in the game.
Doesnt surprise me Frontier is scared to put this fuction in the game fully with all those threads with people that dont undertand how collision detection can be so CPU intesive with guests, and want every object in the roads to have it becuase "guests going thorugh objects is unreallistic and I want the to turn arround something" amd "if the sims has it why not Planet Coaster".
Thankfully, creativity won in that design choice but im sure if everything could go through tracks and rides some people will be saying the game is bugged and asking for real colissions.

I dont mind having it is a cheat, or a possiblity change inside the config files for the people that dont mind tweaking things there, if Frontier doesnt feel to put it in the game from the get a go.

I also want to add that, like many times, FinalmantasyX is wrong (or exagerating) and no, collision detection was not a cheat in RCT3. You didnt write the name in the peep and the cheat happened, like the rest of the real cheats. You actually needed to change things on the .txt OUSTIDE the game, and thats something not casual friendly, nor a cheat, nor an option Frotnier wanted you to tweak. It was just some of the text the config file had. The options also gave problems like rides could intersect scenery BUT not the other way round, so it was not the perfect thing some people here think they remember.

I'm coming into this a bit late but have the hit-boxes been increased since release? My themed coaster blueprints can no longer be placed. I get the "obstructed" message. The tracks or the scenery on their own can be placed, but not both. If that's the case I'd definitely like the collision to be to be tweaked a bit. I can't re-upload Treasure Guardian or Nightshade back onto the Workshop because of this.

Also, I'd like to be able to theme the flat rides a bit but the hit-boxes make it impossible. I'd like it if we get the piece to have the red outline as it does now, as a warning, and then be able to use our judgement and still place it if we want.

Yes, some were improved, some were made worse, thats why many stuff in older parks is super hard to edit or fix for the workshop.

Kind of completely unecessary comment there, considering

A. I was responding to someone who called it a cheat when I clarified it was from the base game

B. Everyone understands what is meant by the word "cheat", and is not being pedantic about whether or not it explicitly means entering a code into a box

The ONLY collision-detection in this game should be with peeps and light, they should not run / flow through any kind of objects (ok, light through glas is OK).

I just casually went to make a little 'hut" thing on the top of my wooden coaster, as they often have in real life, and BAM. Collision. I'm still not used to it being there.

HAS to be adressed. I seriously can't place a coaster in my park atm without deleting the themeing I have already created even though the coaster would EASILY fit in there. Needs to be made available, even if it's just a cheat.

Agree - every time i download a coaster from the workshop - with great scenery - the collision feature stops me from laying it anywhere - even though the maker has had the exact workshop item working in their parks, still over joyed with all the Devs have made for us, so thanks again, G

Definitely need a option to disable collisions (both objects and tracks intersecting each other) otherwise I can't build a certain theme park I want to do in future which is based around a wooden coaster.

Also having tracks and stations intersecting would make it easier to build the same coaster layout as a different coaster type, I used to do this in RCT3 and then delete the other track once completed.

every time I start Planetcoaster to build on my park, I get excited but then I see all my coasters and I freak out because I can't build the scenery like I want around the coasters and trains and then i quit Planetcoster again disapointed -.-[downcast][sad]

I expect base game features from RCT3 to wander into the game at any point, there's no minimum waiting period IMO.

But they would still need to test how it works, how it affects things etc. If it was never in the game then it changes things regardless of what is in RCT3 which again does not mean it should be in here just because it was before. Yes I want it but to just expect it to turn up and then moan when a patch released is silly.

We can see these are smaller patches by the definition of the 1.0.2 etc. Clearly the patch that is on December 15th is going to be larger because it's been directly posted on. Maybe wait till then to really expect new features/adjustments like that. The update on the 15th may be classed as 1.1.0 even depending on what is coming. Now that would be interesting.

These are small bug issues and crash issues really.

Just out of interest, why exactly do you have that expectation of Planet Coaster?

Because like many player our interest for planet coaster is not management but creation.

Numerous things existing in real parks are impossible to create in the game because of collisions.

For example Log Flume on water, rail interesection or that:

Do you feel his expectation is unrealistic? Why couldn't they add a feature randomly?

Programmers have a scheduled set of tasks to do; ranging from adding new features, fixes and testing. It's easy to say "hey, add this and add that" but in reality even adding a small feature could mean re-writing a huge portion of the game which in turn will introduce even more issues and problems, specially if not well-thought of.

I get it; turning off collision is a nice feature and I wanted them to do it as well. I'm sure they already have it on their to-do list, so give them time as it's not really as easy as it sounds.
