IMPORTANT: Pre-Beta Prep and VIP Tickets

Hi coaster friends,

We hope you’re all counting down the hours until the Planet Coaster Beta starts – it’s only a few days away now, and we know we’ve been hyping you up with the social media countdown images and our upcoming Beta developer livestream tonight at 7PM GMT. However, before we jump into Beta on Wednesday, we do have some important information about your Planet Coaster Alpha game today.

As we’ve mentioned before in the Steam Workshop update, your Alpha game version is a separate Steam game compared to the full release of Planet Coaster and the Beta, so you’ll have plenty of time to locally save and re-upload your Workshop items into Beta. But in preparation for shipping out the Beta, we will have to turn off support for the avatars on the globe in your Alpha game. This means you will no longer be able to see the Featured Creators or your Steam Friends when you fire up the Alpha version. This happens today, so don’t be alarmed when your avatar is chilling on the globe all by him or herself. On Wednesday, all globe functionality will be active in the Planet Coaster Beta!
As for Alpha functionality, that version will continue to work up until April 28, 2017. After this date, Planet Coaster Alpha and its Workshop will be removed from Steam altogether.

Another small update is regarding the VIP Tickets, if you have purchased one. Later this week, either on Thursday or Friday, you will be able to claim your purchased VIP Tickets; Single, Family, and Staff. They will function from the Beta version onwards, so you can get your avatar in before the release on November 17.

Thanks for the update!!

If i understand correct, this also means we can transfer our Blueprints from Alpha to Beta/Release version up untill April 28?

I believe a cut with new things for Beta would be more beneficial as I would think with all the colour options, the new textures/building pieces it seems odd to keep the same Alpha stuff.

I created some workshop content during the Alpha party in the park weekend but I dont have access to Alpha. How do I go about saving my content locally if I dont have access to Alpha?

Just to clarify, the steam workshop for the beta and full version of Planet Coaster is a different workshop as what we had during alpha? Because i'm concerned at loading up my alpha parks into the beta version and be missing a bunch of workshop items/blueprints because the creator hasn't reuploaded or however it works. If so will that mean i have to go and try to find all the missing workshop blueprints again and if the creator hasn't reuploaded then basically tough luck? Or can you save downloaded blueprints locally?

This is so confusing!
Can someone please help me download the beta? i've had the alpha since alpha 2. Do i generate another steam key?

you will find the thrillseeker key in your frontier store, we have two keys one for the alpha and now one saying thrillseeker, that is the one u must redeem and use in steam:) hope u get it up and running

I somehow can't find any of my old Alpha blueprints in the Beta even if they have been stored locally. Am I missing something here?

just downloaded my VIp Group pass, when creating my group, noticed that it gives options for different type of groups, (teen couple, Adult couple etc). are we able to create one of every group or just one particular group?

I have a single ticket, does this just use your avatar that i created or should it still show up in the interface that i need to create it.
