This is not a Planet Coaster 24h stream but a Frontier stream. They did some playing with Planet Coaster earlier and released new screenshots for the upcoming new DLC. Right now it is a segment more towards Elite.
What did you expect the stream to be about for 24h? So far this is fairly similar to what they did last year.
Thanks Bitter Jeweler.![]()
That's 3 threads where we can now enjoy these lovely screenshots![]()
You've probably looked at them twelve times already, no? [haha]
All the money collected goes to a charity called SpecialEffect (https://www.specialeffect.org.uk) who do some great work helping make the lives of disabled people better through gaming and technology in general. There are videos shown regularly during the livestream that showcase some of the work that they're doing.
Frontier have regular prize giveaways during the livestream, and at the end there's a lottery for a bunch of prizes where for every £1 you've donated you get one ticket.
^ What xyphic said.
Frontier's 24-hour Charity livestream is in aid for SpecialEffect, a wonderful cause that is supporting disabled people to play games that they wouldn't be able to play without them. This enables those people to get moments of joy in their lives that are often filled with difficulties and struggles.
The livestream is about supporting this charity; it is an event where the community gets involved in donating to this cause. It is not about the games of Frontier; it was never communicated as such. The games do get involved in a few of the timeslots on the livestream.
Thank you everyone for supporting Frontier in aid for SpecialEffect! Every pound counts and is appreciated greatly!
By all means, do not feel the need to participate or to donate, it is entirely voluntary. If you rather want to watch livestreams about Planet Coaster; Frontier will resume their streaming schedule after the Christmas holidays
Thank you <3
Thank you to the entire team at Frontier and the incredibly wonderful communities of Elite Dangerous and Planet Coaster. Together we have raised more than £53,000 for SpecialEffect.
You're all stars! <3
I'd just like to say congratulations to Frontier for organizing this.
And massive hugs to Bo, Ed and Zac as well as the mods (Joel for being there for 24 hours, buddy, you're a machine) for the energy, passion and pure warmth and positivity you brought for this epic marathon.
And to Special Effect for the amazing work you do. I hope and pray this idea rolls out internationally. Everyone of those videos stunned me with how profoundly enriching playing video games can be in peoples' lives. We see all the time, especially in the media, the negative side of the effects of gaming. It was so heart-warming to see how these incredible people, who have to conquer massive hurdles in their lives, have almost had their lives changed by having this amazing world of gaming and connectivity to larger on-line communities opened to them. I'm full of admiration and love for all of them.
And finally, the last 24 hours really brought home how incredibly proud I am to be part of this amazing community. We all know how toxic some online gaming communities can be, but the atmosphere here at Frontier is incredible. And we had 2 communities (including the lovely Elite guys) together all working together for a great cause.
And what we all achieved together, Us, the community, the gorgeous Frontier team and the hard workers at Special Effect raising SO much money is astounding. We all helped in going towards changing peoples' lives. And that's an incredible, special thing.
Love you guys, Nemmie [heart][heart]

Whilst I was unable to watch most of the stream due to being elsewhere/bedtime etc, it's great to see so much raised for a worthy cause (and the parts of the livestream I was able to see were enjoyable to watch)
I'm interested though to see who the lucky people were for the main donation-related prizes.
