New Update Items Overview

They announced that there would be 4 rides coming, they have already showed 3.What more do you think they could implement, than a bunch of scenery[uhh].

Oh I don't know. The sky is the limit I guess. Coaster smoothness, better and/or new management features, more coaster options, better dark ride support etc. The list is long. Keep in mind these are just items I listed, nowhere have Frontier said or promised that any or all of these will ever come to the game (feel like this has to be mentioned now as a disclaimer on this forum or people will take it as a promise).

Didn't Sam say the flat rides would be doubled from the game at launch (28)? If so; We currently have 40. They showed 1 new flat (himalaya), that makes 41. 56 would be doubled minus the 41 leaves 15 flats that were not announced..........[where is it]

He said rides, not flat rides. He probably included all coasters and track rides as well.

There was good things announced. They work hard on this update and give this free, so it's a very good thing. The gameplay and management is lacking, but at least they add some interesting features to try to improve this and no charge for their hard work. Scenario editor would be a very welcome addition. Staff buildings if correctly implemented should be fun.

I still hope for more management changes to put this game to another level (competition, more impact of demographic, QOL fixes, improvement on prestige, AI improvements, weather, buyable land, time-limited objectives, etc.). Let's hope some of these will be in the anniversary update. If not, let's hope they'll work on this kind of thing to still improve management and gameplay.

There is one coaster they didn't show off, but once again I'm pretty baffled about their priorities. Water coaster? Not my first choice, but ok... Side friction coaster? Why? The flat ride itself is a good addition, but with that massive cover over it it'll be very limited to where it can be placed. Picnic tables are great, finally they're in there. The staff thing seems... a bit weird. Unless you couple it with staff-only walkways and functional backstage areas, I don't see how this really adds much. Scenario Editor is definitely cool and can bring a new dimension to the game. The coaster swap is also a very welcome addition for sure. My biggest gripe though is the no mention of any of the QoL updates people have been screaming about for ages...

No matter what they add people will get angry. They can't please everyone with their ride and coaster selection. Personally, I think the coasters they showed added to the diversity of the coaster range in the game. They don't really resemble anything that already exists.

The new staff building is a game changes for management. Adds a new level of depth to staffing and staff management. Now you need to make sure you have a good staff roster, when to take time to train someone (not happening instantly anymore) which might mean that a particular shop will see a drop in profit during training or when they need to rest.

QoL doesn't do well to present on a stage like this. Again, people will have to chill down and wait until the whole content list has been revealed.

Yes, let's hope that they'll be staff-only paths and backstages area. I think that this will be the case, because if staff use the same paths and if we couldn't define backstage, it could be very odd to manage this. Let's hope for the best.

Which is the issue, I don't mind having unique coaster types in the game, but I do mind it if that means we're not getting some of the more common types that exists in real life. Add the most common ones in first, then start adding the more unique ones. There's literally been a coaster in the game since release that only exists in ONE park in real life. That's why I'm always confused about their priorities when it comes to their choice of rides/coasters.

It changes things a bit, sure, one more thing to think about with management. However, unless they add staff-only (outside) areas I feel like they will miss the mark with this. It'll feel like adding a feature on top of everything instead of integrating it into the game as a whole.

And I'm pretty sure they would've mentioned something about the QoL if it was coming. There is so much that needs to be fixed with the game, and has needed a fix since release...

Btw, just a reminder, I gave my thoughts on what I liked and didn't like with the announcements. I gave praise where praise was due, and criticism where criticism was due. In my opinion of course.

I love that they are adding in some more vintage rides! And the water coaster! Imagine the darkride possibilities there! I expect there are lots more surprises they didn't show. And who knows? Maybe the new coaster will be something really spectacular like an Escape from Gringotts - type ride or something.

I'm still hoping for chairlift transport rides though! Fingers crossed!

I´m happy what I saw so far. However, if it is all (feature wise) we get, then it got stucked halfway through (as it sometimes happens to Frontier).

Happy to hear they tackle on the management side of things, but along with the restroom, they should have added backstage area, already mentioned here. That would add even more gameplay to the whole thing. Without that, I´m afraid this feature will turn our (as some other features Frontier already added) more into annoying thing than fun and engaging feature. I hope it´s not happening though.

Happy about the rides overally and picnic tables. I wish they also brought restaurants along with it though. Maybe sometimes in the future.

Scenario editor is simply awesome, although I hope they bring the possible to expand the park plots. Much requested feature from fans so far.

But what I expect the most is more and more optimization, I hope they did some improvements on this too.

Besides that, people, keep talking about the coaster smoothing problems, but stop complaining it should be in this update... I can assure you that doing that thing is not an easy job. I hope it will eventualy be done, but this will need more time and efforts.

....! Imagine the darkride possibilities there!

I can´t imagine that, because this game doesn´t handle darkrides. Besides all other problems with DLC strategy, it is beyond me why they went with darkride oriented DLC while the engine can´t handle it....

The problem here is that if they did what you suggested (not saying it is a bad suggestion) then they would a whole bunch of people angry because they didn't added everything that was in one of the previous titles. Both the coasters added (so far) are fairly unique compared to the other ones making it a more diverse and better game. People also need to remember that this is a GAME, not a real world replica. Then you should play NoLimit instead. As a designer and developer I am sure they like to think outside the box with coasters too, come up with new ones that may or may not be inspired by real world ones.

Any again, we don't know the whole story here yet. They showed a short clip of it and talked a minute or so. They did not have a bunch of time on stage for obvious reasons. Details will come in the streams where they can go deeper into the features without the same time pressure.

How about waiting to complain about something until you know it won't make it in the update? You can give praise and criticism on what they shown so far and if they publicly said something will NOT be in the update. That is fair. Criticizing on stuff they have not talked about (either of being in the game or not) is just silly and rude. Just my two cents.

No, he simply can share his positive or negative feelings about what they just announced, right? Especially if that announcement felt like they might actually not announce anything else regarding this specific feature. I also have got the feeling they are not planning much more with staff from that announcement, hence I also "complain".

I gave my criticism on the announcements, and also lack of announcements. That's it. Not getting sucked into this again.

New coasters look great, can't wait to see what restrictions they have that will make using them oh so fun. Kind of funny how people are really hyped over finally getting picnic tables in a sim game thats about a year old now.

I'm really pleased what we have SO FAR of the update. I surely hope that this is not all and hope the promise of more stuff in upcoming livestreams holds true.
I am not eagerly awaiting the scenario editor, but i acknowledge that this is a BIG feature for a lot of players and that it took a lot of development time to do it right, so anyway i am very happy that it is finally here and out of their way to some extent :)

The train switching feature is very overdue, but also very well done!! so i'm glad they took their time [up][up]
Picnic tables is absolutely awesome. There are so many picnic areas in player's parks that were never used and now they can, i absolutely love that [heart] and they are not just adding one but several picnic tables, really cool [yesnod]

The staff enhancements are looking really great and they seem to have serious depth into it.

I'm not sure about that one. They have that jumping out of the stall animation, so that staff jumps out onto the guests paths. It may only be for those stalls that are not connected to backstage paths (lets hope so), but i'm not sure about that.

Now i'm looking forward to the upcoming streams and hope that the update is not too far away [tongue]

So we didn't get any improvements to the coasters like better smoothing, multiple stations or removal of track limits.

Nope and no flexible coaster types either. The water coaster is awesome tho! I wonder what the "unannounced" coaster will be. Probably a Togo Heartline since it was in the alpha files and teased in the Development Diaries..

What can i say?

Picknick tables
I have been bugging about picknick tables forever, we get them now!! Now we can really make realisctic sit down restaurants!!

New Flat Ride
Sorry for forgetting it's name. We had a ride like this in RCT3 called "Thunderbobs" and i always fels we needed this ride. This is not the exact sime ride but rather a more classical version of it and i love it :D
Believe it or not it was one of the last few flatrides on my list i felt we really needed :D

Watercoaster
Im SO glad we have this one!! Im so hyped :D
The only thing i really hope they will do is make this ride go 2 ways. As acoaster but also have it work as a darkride. Like being able to recreate Pirates Of The Caribbean, Small World, etc etc ... In order for that to work it should also attract enough visitors without having a (big) coaster part and the boats shouldn't move too fast in the non-coaster sections.

(A slider for speed would be awesome for the water parts like we have on the tracked rides)

All in all, im HYPED for this update :D

that is a really neat idea [up] i hope they pick up on that (if they have not done so) ;)

I hope it’s more than 4 rides that they have a few surprises that they held back. There also could be another paid DLC yet this year as well. I was hoping for at least 3 flats in the update. So far they showed one, the Musik Express type ride.

I want this for build my favorite dark ride... [cry][cry]
