Different Gender for Janitors/Security/Mechanics

Am I just the only one who gets tired of seeing the same Janitor or Mechanic or Security guard prancing around the park. It's kinda creepy. Why can't we have Staff that's different genders and colors just like the venders and Ride Staff, is there any possible way frontier would consider this?

I really miss RCT3 where we had the ability to change skin tones and diverse look of employees. I want to have a black Princess, a Hispanic Princess or a male western entertainer...as well as a female janitor/mechanic/security guard etc. etc...I want all staff to be diverse and sadly the main staff is mostly just a bunch of white people and male dominant. White princess. White male mechanic. White male security guard and janitor. No females in those positions. There's a severe lack of diversity with Planet Coasters main staff and that could be changed if skin tones/sexes would be apart of the game like it was in RCT3.

Please Frontier consider removing the "Static" main staff and instead go with different skin tones/sexes.

Exactly, this is where we have been debating for many months now that so many aspects should be developed and introduced by now! After all Frontier helped create RTC 3 did they not...that was rhetorical we know they did :) and this is the severe frustration they have the know why did they not implement RCT3 character straight into alpha stage let alone beta!

I wouldnt mind seeing girl cleaners and girl security staff. Frontier also made Zoo Tycoon for xbox one and xbox 360 (but not for ps4). You get gurl and boy staff variety except for cleaners.

But we dont want all those vandalists to get away now do we? [money]

[tongue]

Women are a heck of alot better at chasing people down than men do. Have you ever seen a women chase after a man after she found out he was cheating. SHE runs faster than a cop looking for a donut.

Agreed. It is "enough" to just have two templates, one male as we have now and one female. And then switch around color palettes for those. And if it works, the "hat"-hair could be switched around too for some more variety.

But on other hand I also understand the uniformity, to make easier to spot them.

My own wishlist is however not skin/hair color but rather the clothes colors. Be able to recolor for example the princess dress to pink&white to fit better one more "modern" princess style. Or make an army of princesses of different colors! Would be fantastic! :D
(inb4 princess peach and daisy colors :D)

Likewise for Elly, Lockjaw and other similar dressed ones. As for Gulpee, Cosmic Cow, Tiki, Chief Beef .... I understand their "uniformity" to have for the brand tie in.

This is one of those things I don´t rly care about. This game sure needs other things. Also, I don´t mind it that much, at least employees are recognizable.

Short version: Representation matters, erasure is a form of bigotry. Don't like me bringing my "politics" into it? Then don't bring your default bigotry.

Warning: some links contain slurs and potential triggers.

Chill out. It is a GAME, not the real world. Indirectly you are accusing Frontier of being racists with your post. I don't think anyone have said they never want this in the game, just that there are fare more important items for Frontier to concentrate on than to make sure every sex, color and social background is represented in the game.

I remember when Resident Evil 5 was first released in 2009, it received a lot of hate mail or even was protested against, because it was set in africa and all the enemy/zombies were black people, so the developers through in a random looking white zombie that did not really fit into the setting of the game

Representation in media, including games, affects the real world -- that's what "representation matters" means. However unconsciously or inadvertently, failing to include appropriate representation is erasure, a form of bigotry (misogyny, rasicm, ableism, etc).

Choosing a venue that "naturally" restricts representation (But medieval Europe was white, PoC are unrealistic in this -- hey, great dragon!) is another form of erasure.

Guys, I'd rather not be doing this either, it'd be great if we could just sit back and enjoy our gaming, but out in the "real world" people are literally dying because of it -- if some forumites insist on posting their approval of abled/cis/straight/white/male as default and call the representation that peoples' lives depend on less important? [down] That's where this gets ugly.

Your talking about being "Political Correct" but often times "Social Justice Warriors" go too far in the opposite direction, leaving a negative affect on society.

So is "Different Gender for Janitors/Security/Mechanics" too far? I don't think so, and from what I've read neither do you.

"Often times" -- this time? Is your objection to how I've framed the issues, maybe to my "tone"? Do you think this should be said more softly, or just not here?

From a company standpoint, I think Frontier is well diverse and supports equal rights. From the games perspective, I dont think its a big issue, and I'm more concerned about having color options for outfits/uniforms (as I posted in other threads). Personally, I'm surprised there are not more staff faces, young, old, black, white male female, etc. But I guess it takes a lot of time to get the detail they want?

I never intended my statement to be directed towards you specifically, just that some requests around here can go too far off in the opposite direction sometimes. Does having a female janitor really impact the game? No not at all

Actually, what I want is to see staff be multi-purpose. Like say you can have an employee who can be both janitor and vendor. Let me link you to where I discuss this idea in more detail...

It would be really fun if there was a way to hire a "low level employee" who can work their way up through different ranks. Like a vendor becoming an entertainer, or being demoted to janitor. Operators could be upgraded to mechanics, and there could even be a training facility. Once an employee reaches the highest rank, they become a manager who can work any position!

And there could also be a new hiring process where you could hire pretrained employees for more money or low ranked employees that require training but demand less pay
