I miss screams of terror

The audio in this game is generally really good, but one thing I've noticed is that there aren't really any real screams of terror in this game at all. The guests kind of go "uuuaaah" during the most intense part of a ride, but they don't scream in that high-pitched way you always hear at amusement parks. And I miss that from earlier games in the genre. Any plans on making this a thing in the future?

+1 for this I think this issue should be fixed as well because they scream like they're not scared or happy with the rides [haha]

-1 What I don't want is excessive high pitched screaming in my ear.

This will be something that is gonna annoy me really fast.

+1 I think the current screams are too cheery/laughy. As of one of the first major updates (1.2 maybe?), however, you can hear more high-pitched screams if you back up from the coaster a bit.

For someone whose mother tongue is not English, the title can be a bit irritating ... Terror in the Park?

Terror is what it's supposed to be. You scream in terror, not horror. It's a common expression...

Also, compare a real POV of a coaster with one in PC and you'll see what I mean. Or even the older theme park games, you always had people shrill and scream when they were on an intense ride, in PC they kind of just sound like they're a bit startled, not really scared.

Most screams on POV video's are not screams out of terror, they are screams because they want to make the loudest screams, which I think is really annoying, trying to break someones hearing.....

But that's my opinion. I think the balance for onride sounds is okay, but anybody is free to make the suggestion of course [up]

I must say that the game sound has improved tremendously after the last update. Before we had the same few screams over and over again with little variation.
Now the sounds are much more varied and balanced. The mix is much better now.
There are only a few things that could be improved and that is the strange howling peeps tend do during launches.
I also think that some of the single-car steel coasters are a bit too loud.
Very happy with the current game sound!

I think some screams would be OK but we don't want it like RCT3 where they would scream whenever the coaster went down hill - even on the shallowest of dips.

By all means scream on an Oblivion style drop but not on a gentle dip.

Have to say, I DO like the way guests show different emotions from happy to bricking it.

Never really payed attention to it, it would be nice to have some extra realism sounds, but then again it could end up in an annoying sound and might damage your ears (certain hertz at higher decibels).
Perhaps that's the reason why they left it out, or "changed" the screams to what they are now.

If they ever will add them, it might be a good to get some extra conditions when they scream, examples: at a minimum height drop 40-60m+ or some loopings and rolls.
So our ears be sparred atleast sometimes of hearing high pitch screams.

Whatever the reason is for people screaming, they still are screaming in real life, and I miss hearing that in the game.

I totally agree with the OP. Having grown up right next door to an amusement park, the very first thing I noticed regarding sound was how unrealistic the sound of the people is when they're on a thrill ride of any kind. What's missing is that high, shrill screaming that you hear at any amusement park.

Although I love Planet Coaster and I think they did a fantastic job, I do feel they dropped the ball on this and it really does affect the ambiance of the game. After all, what's the first thing we hear when we enter an amusement park, the thing that gets our adrenaline going in anticipation of what's to come? It's the sound of screaming people on the rides.

I hope frontier will update the sound to include that realistic screaming. The peeps sound a little neutral and underwhelmed as it is now.

I think it should be a game option if Frontier were to put in "Terror" screaming as I'd find it really annoying & wouldn't use it.

Nah, sod that. The clarity of the sound design is such that all you'd ever hear is screaming peeps over the top of everything. People's voices are already in the front of the sound mix, if you made them all shrill and high pitched it'd make you want to end it all.

They wouldn't need to make it overly loud. If it were mixed in low with the rest of the people's voices, and used only on coasters where the excitement level is high, I think it would mix in just fine withour being too shrill. It's all in how you implement it.

I'd like to see the screams used in a more dynamic way.

Say, for rides with a fear of 6+ bring back the "i'm going to need a fresh change of clothes" screams to signify just how terrifying the ride is.

I think right now it might be tied to excitement but I'd like to also have the scared screams tied to fear.
