Vote DLC / Pack / Update

In a way we already vote by deciding to purchase or not...

My own opinion is that the developers know full well what's being suggested and requested. They know full well what they are able to create in the game, And they know what is likely to sell, which is the entire purpose behind adding more content.

Any voting only represents the views of the people who frequent the forums or social media, and they are actually just a small minority of the total number of people who have purchased and play the game.

Frontier managed to create a wonderful game based on their research without my voting for everything in it, so I think they can come up with new things to add without my vote. May not be what some people want, when they want it, but everything they've released so far has found many players who wanted them, use them and are quite happy to have gotten them.

I think the Suggestions Forums is the best bet. That way everyone is heard. People might not like that a ride they want wasn't on the list.

Great idea until the options don't suit some-one and they end up blindly chanting "chairlift" in the blind hope that this one time will outshout their 40,000 other occasions of shouting it..

I don´t think that many good things would come from this. I mean peole were asking for hotels and restaurants. And when we got them, I fell that after five minutes of "playing" with them, it became apparant that it added nothing to the game.
I´m not saying the implementation was bad, but it didn´t add anything of visual- or game playing value.
I feel that the time and energy spent on this could have been better used for all these QoL -updates that are missed across the board.

it does not cost anything to try, after Frontier decided but I do not believe it too much

business people can come up with ideas, yes, but they have to think of the end result being successful.
They’d have to make every ride they put in this said poll to make sure they would work correctly. By then they could give us all of them.

I’m sure there are many reason why they would not choose your approach.

Oh but it does cost something for them to do a poll. It would take many hours for the community managers, devs, business, etc. to write the poll, figure out where to post it, monitor the results to see if there is any funny business, tally results, etc. Not to mention the only available platforms for doing polls where they don't have to code their own are easily cheated. What about all the people who play but don't visit the forums or other social media? They'd have to make a poll that launches in game.

, Bluestacks Kodi Lucky Patcher but everything they've released so far has found many players who wanted them, use them and are quite happy to have gotten them.

yes it is true that the developers know very well what is suggested and asked but they know what they are able to create in the game but that thanks to the opinions of people who frequent the forums

Rest assured lovely people, that we are constantly doing the best we can in relaying your thoughts, suggestions, and ideas to the developers (if they've not already read it themselves)!

Your best bet indeed is posting on the forums, reddit, or social, but of course we also look at the game's statistics as well as our own plans to make such decisions. Historically though, we've always tried to listen to community wishes as much as we can, it's just that some things take longer to implement than others (*cough cough CHAIRLIFT *cough*).

Hope this clarifies a little :) <3

Yes I would like to see more ride DLC's as well. The first one was a big hit. I hope the next one they do will be a kiddie rides DLC.

My guess is that over at Frontier, you all come up with a short list of candidates which you all think are technically and temporally doable, economically viable, fill a gap, and satisfy at least some customer suggestions. Then you pick which one of these to pursue. My suggestion is that you make this short list the subject of a NON-binding poll. This would have a number of benefits.

1. All the poll options would already have been vetted by Frontier instead of throwing the door open to every crazy idea from the fringe elements :).

2. Frontier would get some more data (maybe good, maybe not) to assess the economic viability of each option.

3. The community would know that a) Frontier listens and b) has continued long-term plans for PC.

4. The community would learn what the community (including the silent majority) really wants, thus decreasing the number of posts by the vocal minority claiming that "everybody wants X" :D.

What I would do is develop the updates based on popular attractions in real life, and some of the most suggested in the "Suggestions and Ideas" forum, but leave the ones that are (or could be) heavily themed for DLCs. However, I would open up polls for the DLCs. For example, I'm going to put a Science DLC vs a Dinosaur DLC. I would show what they would have to offer:

Dinosaur: Based on the Dino-themed attractions and areas at Universal and Disney parks, this pack would contain: Several dino animatronics, several pieces of plant life, pieces to re-create parts of the Dino Institute and Jurassic Park Visitor Center, one coaster reskin (a Pteranodon overlay for the Stingray), one track ride (based on Dinosaur), one water ride (based on JP: River Adventure), and a small coaster attraction based on Pteranodon Flyers.

Science: Mostly based on the various Future World pavilions at Epcot, this pack would contain: Several animatronic test dummies in animatronic cars (If you were at Epcot a long time ago, you know where this is going), animatronic animals, building pieces to create greenhouses, vehicle testing sites, and scenes resembling ancient civilizations. As for the rides, it would contain: An omnimover system based on that which is seen in Spaceship Earth, a boat ride based on Living with the Land, perhaps the ride system in place for "Journey into (your) Imagination (with Figment)," and, basically the capstone of it all: Test Track's ride system.

After giving these two pitches to the consumers, I would have them vote in-game through an optional poll. Each user could vote once, and the voting would end 1-2 weeks after it starts. While both DLCs would come to Planet Coaster eventually, the winner would be made first, much like how the Pyro v Heavy war in TF2 worked two years ago (although we are still waiting on the Heavy update).

By the way, I wouldn't mind hearing which one you guys would vote for, so feel free to put that in if you reply.

It's all good ideas, and definitely something we've considered. The problem is that even if you say that the poll is non-binding, you're creating expectations with people that those options will (eventually) happen, and that's just a tricky bit to take into account.

For example, we did a Twitter poll a while ago about "what's most important to you when building your parks" - which we meant as just a general question because it's interesting to do polls on Twitter, but a lot of people took the poll out of context and thought we were asking players for information so we could make new features. That's why it's a bit tricky to do ;)

Yes I understand, like some of my suggestions where I think there is no hope to see them on planet coaster " I'm talking about a topple tower " [where is it]

YOU are not the only one suggesting stuff. Don't act like you have more privileges than others....

I don't mind if there would be a vote.

The main problem is people making there own expectations that might not be realistic, even if you tell them nothing or as little as possible.

I like a surprise every now and then, so not knowing what is coming untill announcements are made is fine for me as well.

Although a new update with some hard needed (bug) fixes is certainly needed. But I have trust!
