Dont you strive to get better? Or do you just accept the fact you're going to stay where you're at. Because now for you and others there is no way to combat this and learn from your mistakes. Before you had a chance to become a better pilot. Now you dont get that chance. No one does. No one benefits from this change alone.

You're the one who's moaning about a change making it impossible to do stuff before you've even tried it.

I'm just saying that I doubt many PvE players will notice the difference between being exploded by this method or any other.

If you've never been shot at with Drag Drives how can you possibly say you're on the same ground as someone who has? How about people who have fought this effect more times than you've got hours in the game?

Next.
We currently have the exact same amount of experience with the new drag effect, not that it is relevant to my previous post.

Seems split down the middle to me. I know I'm excited to use them - I'm out on the turnpike now, hunting low-range bugfood.

The overwhelming majority of people hasn't read the patch notes and has no clue either way. The rest has a single line of text. Most sane people would just give it a shot, figure out how it works exactly, then think and then come up with an opinion.

But not the salty bois. :p

Drag Munitions has been around for a while. It doesn't take much imagination to make an educated guess as to what this change will do.

You dont know the crucial part: how long it lasts, if there is a countdown and for how long. That will determine if it is OP or not. You can just wait a bit and test it, or get salty as heck and rage all over the place. Whatever floats your boat, I guess.

Sorry that's difficult for you!

Use your brains. Please. It would be great.

Sorry, but I am too old for that. Have fun complaining to/about others.

Logging on to test it right now, in fact. You gonna bother?

So... these players do not try to evade fire and high wake? The proposed change means the difference between escape and exploding. It is overpowered beyond measure.

No, I am not going to bother because my HOTAS is RMA'd. Might be two weeks before I can bother. Which is why I would appreciate if the forums wouldn't be spammed with clueless salty ragefests but rather by people posting some actual stats, vids and facts. Probably going to be a sweet topic by Morbad or Ziljan soon, looking forward to that.

I did read that.

You posted only PvPers (whatever that means) have ground to hold an opinion.

I said I disagree and think all have ground to hold an opinion, but if we want to start pushing groups to the side the fringe group of super focused PvPers might be a good group to ignore, then you started going off on hours played and assumptions I've never been debuffed by the old drag effect.

I'm using my brain to the best of my abilities and really am not sure what point you think you're making.

Yeah common sense. Try it sometime.

Gods forbid humans use their knowledge of a topic to make educated guesses about the future. Of course, we're all about to find out exactly what's going on and I'll be the first to eat a crow sandwich if the sky isn't falling.

But hey, at least I ain't the guy that can't play for two weeks elucidating on the subject.

Common sense would be to not make assumptions before you know the reasons behind a change, or indeed the extent of the change. And then to test it before jumping to conclusions. I did that, did you?
Its not an assumption. DO you know how drag works? Do understand why the change was made?

Furthermore if you understood anything about this game, which in our past conversations you clearly dont. You dont need a quote for everything they do. Actions speak louder than words.

Look at the cause and effects of the changes they made in this game, and not just this drag effect. And maybe just maybe you'll see the light.

You know, this is the only place I have ever seen where someone has tried to help or where people that play this game to the fullest extent get crapped on by mods that dont know their own game they are playing.

To be honest its quite shameful. It really is.

No, I said people who play in Open. Try again.

EDIT: OK, implied Open Players. If you're saying I just mean PvPers you're missing the point.
I should have said open instead of PvPers, but ya was thinking the point of open implied a PvP issue.

Edit:forgot the best part, some guy who has never left solo can have an opinion on drag drives in regard to his pve play that is just as important as your opinion of it in regards to pve or PvP.

Yeah common sense. Try it sometime.

Applying common sense to guess the reasons FDev had to make the change to drag munitions?
Let's see:
  • they don't understand PvP
  • they don't care about PvP
  • they assume that the change only affects a few players negatively and is for the majority of players very positive and helpful especially for beginners against boosting NPCs.
  • they don't care about a few annoyed players

Business as usual since 1.0.
