So calm down, download the update, and see if it's actually as bad as you're guessing it is. Then report back.

At first I thought that too, but they just explained to us that that is "not using common sense'" "not using your brain" and that if you listen to them you may (and I am still quoting) "see the light."

So there is that, too.

Just shot a friend (Renraiku) with some Drag Munition Seekers. You cannot boost for five seconds after impact. There does appear to be a cool down of about five seconds which is visually indicated by a blinking red Drag Muntions icon under the target representation next to your radar. I hit him with several missiles during that period and it appears he could boost right away.

BigMaec is engineering a frag right now. Obviously, more rigorous testing will be done by others but here is some initial data.

Thank you.

Its not an assumption. DO you know how drag works? Do understand why the change was made?

OK, now a lot of that post is out of order and unnecessary. So I'm just going to ignore it and stick to the relevant parts.

1. If you are saying it is not an assumption, then that means you have confirmation from FD as to why the change was made.
2. Yes I do
3. Do who? Me or you? The answer is, neither of us

And that's it, simple as, end of. If you believe it was done for a reason, then that's great, but you don't know. But then, what would I know?

Could you tell if the previous pip effect has been removed?

I have a feeling at least some of those encounters will go like this:

Griefer FDL approaches trade Cutter and fires drag munitions.

Cutter fires drag munitions at FDL.

Slowed Cutter rams slowed FDL.

FDL explodes.

You need an explanation.

Drag effects are introduced to slow ships down.

Now they stop from people boosting for a certain amount of time.

This is not difficult to figure out. This is not the brexit or muller investigation you'd like it to be.

Its black and white.

Jesus ozric i bet it takes you an hour to cook minute rice. Good lord.

Look man, it is fine if you are not a native speaker. But you are completely not understanding what Ozric is saying, and constantly add petty insults to every single post. Just ask for clarification if you dont understand something.

I do understand.

This not rocket science. Its basic mechanics here.

What is drag for? What were the changes? How do they affect people?

Whats the outcome compared vs this patch and the last.

Anyone thats PVP'd in the game or has been hit by them knows what this change means ahead of time.

You dont need a quote, you dont to quick maths to figure it out.

And the things hes doing is completely uncalled for, or they are completely oblivious to how this game is played out. You dont need an official response here. If you like one fine. But its not needed to know why the change went in. When people see and know the affects it gives.

More TOT and to slow down ships boosting ALL the time.

Jesus christ.

In case you missed it:

PvP players:"OMG this is terrible with just a c1 turret they can perma-disable boost. Noone can ever escape, this is the worst ever!!!!!"
Me and some other guys:"Dont assume too much. Just try it first and see how it works. Maybe they also added a countdown effect for example."
You:"I make no assumptions, I know what happens, OMG OMG OMG. You are all stupid and idiots if you dont agree with me!"
Other PVP'er:"Oh wait, they added a countdown. You cant perma-disable boost by adding a frag turret."

Spammed my friend with missiles and it basically looks like you've got to mash the hell out of the boost button to have any hope of boosting after the effect ends.

Looks like the veteran PvPers MAY have been right! Gee golly, kids.

Time to test BigMaec's frags!

Huh? You either can escape or you cant. You claimed you couldn't. Now you tested it and you repeated twice you can escape. That means you were, you know, the opposite of right. Let the shifting of goalposts begin!

Meanwhile the only interesting question is what the correct countdown timer would be. But I guess that isn't as exciting as doom&gloom raging.

The cooldown was always there. Smart guy. Now it affects boost.

Hey listen, there is a saying that goes around. "Dont let a mechanic do brain surgery".
