New bug reporting method terrible, opinion ?

It could maybe be refined a bit more, but it does make it easier to browse problems that others are having, and its nice to know the status of them.

I've reported, bugs on the issue tracker and must say I preffered the old one, purely from the 'overview' of hot items as others have said, I like the new status indicator but dislike the way we seem to have to open a topic here to get visibility for others to be able to find it. And the biggest bugbear is the back to start if you open one to see if it's relevant... Yuck.

On the whole it's not good.

I kinda don't mind the new tracker but I certainly do mind the sheer number of times I get "the issue could not be loaded" or the page fails to display entirely.
The issue tracker has issues, go figure.

What's the point of using anonymous numbers rather than commander names? In a slightly cynical view it's consequential as there isn't much point in finding our own posts since we can't edit them anyways. Again: Why?
Well, I can see how some commanders might not like to give out their location on the forums in case some weirdo that doesn't like them for that thing they said in an argument about PvP decides to put their home base into lockdown or whatever.

So either the bug tracker is down or, I've been banned after a glorious spree of exactly one bug report.

Good job fDev. Top Marks. :(

Something is really fishy here. Just got an e-mail notification of the last post (from baudelier) that, when I click on the link, I'm getting a browser warning about a suspicious side. Anyone else seeing that?

I'm not getting any messages, and I did click on my email digest link as well. Using FireFox 66.0.3 for the record. The pictures are hosted on Imgur. and my, still mangled, signature links to my inara profile.

TIP FOR ISSUE TRACKER LOCKOUT: Try deleting your browser cache & cookies. Worked for me a while back, haven't had problems since.

I just discovered it today actually trying to look up a new bug I discovered. Took me a while to realize why I couldn't find the "Start New Post" button and then realized all the posts were from back in early April.

The good thing was seeing the latest and most common recent bug reports were and luckily the 2 ones I just discovered were right in that recent list. So that did make it easier at least. Also it really does save time than having to manually enter all that information in like you had to before. It also prevents so many multiple posts on the same issue when you are in the "Create new bug report" section.

I didn't realize until after posting my "me too" statement on the bug report that I could have added a few screen shots as I missed that little toggle button. But I do think it might be better once we get used to it. I just got confused my first time as I wasn't expecting it at all...

They really should clean up the issue tracker once items are addressed, perhaps an auto-email to all contributors would also be beneficial for people who don't read patch notes.
It's becoming a right old mess in there....

I had almost a year of being unable to play ED due to the Galmap causing a CTD around 30% of the times I tried to use it and FDev did chuff-all to sort it in that time.

Personally I can't remember such a bug... any idea how many players were affected by it? From my own experience I can tell you, that bugs which aren't reproducable on dev machines are very hard to pin down and fix.

Others had that issue, like driver777, and they fixed it

Won't that lose all your settings for other sites ?

Yeah it would, and I aint doing that because their system doesn't work (for me)

I mean, literally everything else works, and it's not like I've done anything weird with my system, so, meh.

One thing I would like to see in the Issue Tracker is a new status such as 'Fix Applied' which leaves the issue open for us to update with confirmation or additional examples of it still not having been fixed. Maybe we should be able to edit our original information (lets have a radio button verified/refuted) to comment on the Applied Fix for our circumstances.
