There was some discussion a long while back about the limited, binary choices for commander genders, the choice of an XX commander or an XY commander, and a bit of lamenting because there is no ZZ option.
That discussion never really went anywhere. While I don’t think it would be particularly difficult to accommodate titles based on commander gender selection, I also don’t see it adding any particular value to game play, since those titles (Imperial) and ranks (Federation) are honorary anyways, and not otherwise referenced in game.
If any meaningful game play were built around them, then this might become a more pertanent matter.
