Re: Deciat - CMDR Killer on the loose

I'm newbie. I'm playing in Open. I was ganked few times in Deciat, also on landing pad at Farseer Inc. Also in Wyrd. I've played in Mobius about 2-3 weeks, I've spotted only 1 human player (one!) in heavily populated systems.
I'm PvE player, but I understand this is Open mode and there are bad guys out there who just want to blow up my ship. I'm learning how to effectively avoide them. And maybe some day I will fight back.
Am I wierd?

No, definitely not, I get a feeling you're following one of the intended paths for players! One of us, one of us.

There's a rush in Open that you don't get in PvE; getting interdicted by a hostile commander can mean pretty much anything. And once you learn the risk identification, you'll pretty soon notice that while Open is sometimes dangerous, it's never really THAT dangerous. When you know the ropes and have some experience there's basically no way you will die to commander interactions unless you go specifically looking for trouble.

And maybe one day you'll be the one causing trouble in Open.

Join a lawful squadron! You'd be amazed what's going on when you're 'in the game' and getting the Intel reports from all over the bubble. ;)

In any case, your attitude will take you far in this game, kudos.

Getting away clean is good, but fighting to the death even against hopeless odds, gives you a cathartic elation, we die like men!

P.S. It really is dangerous if you face the best. I'm not the most experienced player around here, but I'm no noob, and I was killed when I didn't intend to be recently, in a ship with over 10k effective health, because I underestimated my opponent(s) and took one risk too many (I gave them just enough time to take out my fsd, whoever did it was a crack shot, I was fleeing at 586mps) ;)

More like a jerk infested zone because it's so easy to frustrate a newer player who just got their first Meta Alloy and just want to get it to Farseer...

I hadn't even considered Deciat as potential source of meta alloys. My CMDR needs sixteen of them to unlock corrosion resistant cargo racks.

It's almost enough to drive him to piracy.

Deciat is anarchy? On my way!
Hold your horses :) it's medium and today it'll be boring out there due to I.I.

But it's in the top on threat list.

If I want 'em in any large quantity I just play the relog game at one of the large barnacle sites, thankfully not really needed since UA bombing stopped being a thing.

@mant3z @Helleborus @Aashenfox - Thanks!
Few days ago I have avoided my first PvP attack on me! Earlier I was just blown up, becouse I didn't know how to flee. That was PvP focused Cutter or Clipper - you know colorfull engines, lasers, flying plasmas etc.
I had sweat on my forehead and little shaking hand :D but what an emotions! Rebuy of my Krait is about 8 mln, so I was happy.

Recently I have bought Imperial Courier and now I'm making proper enginering. Rebuy is now about 500.000 so not so hard. I will make shield tank Courier and then I will just follow my path. And next time when interdicted I will try to kill those who wanted to kill me :) Or I will die. 500.000 is not big problem.

I try to play as if there were one mode, one instance, with a logical degree of persistence, whenever possible. So, I won't play the relog game, except in the case of pad hoggers, which makes my CMDR murderously resentful of theirs.

Yeah, once you dip your toes into a high activity PvP system you sometimes eat a rebuy. Like going to Deciat, you can be really experienced in avoiding and stuff but eventually you'll make a mistake. You're more experienced with that though, I just prowl on my little turf like a wimp. ;)

I said "basically", but perhaps I should have written "very, very rarely" - just think back on how often has another CMDR actually killed you during the last months when you have taken basic precautions of avoiding it? It's very rare.

Plasma Cutter with colours in Deciat :) that can be only one guy!
Courier is super fast, mod it to be even faster, add some shield booster and disappear using heatsinks :p

Indeed, for me there's no shame for Harry in that. In fact, I've been thinking about making a thread about the problem with PvP...the problem is not what most people think it is in my opinion (balance and special effects etc), the problem is that once you've started doing regular pvp, and having a lot of fun doing it, it's REALLY hard to motivate onesefl to farm credits and materials, let's face it, it's no fun. No surprise some of these guys with their massive bounties from their griefing activities and lack of time spent farming, this is bound to happen occasionally. I could only barely cover a rebuy that big at the moment myself.

Good job Ash, my point in this cf post is that yes im now flying in open up untill my jump into a known system i will then log and go pg or solo untill i get to the station then back into open, and i will continue to do so untill they balance pvp to where its down to the skill of the pilot and not their over powerd pos.

And as far as me reporting no i do not spend 20 min a day reporting gankers i only report repeated attacks by the same player or wing.

Im all for pvp but come on all of you legit PvPers turned as one cohesive unit against the gankers and welcome new pilots and old alike who are tired of it to "assist" you or whatever ya wanna call it im in.

But untill they can balance PvP im out and will continue my reporting of said individuals untill something is done.

o7 Cmdr's, fly safe, watch your six, and if ya see me wave, say hi, give me the finger or what ever ya want but im not gonna change my stance and nothing anyone says or does will change that.

Better yet if you are into pvp dont bother with the greeting it will be easier to spot the real Cmdr's that way.
