I'm become sleepy while playing

Me too. Only this game (long periods of jumping and sc) and endurance races in gran turismo, have ever put me to sleep. It's notable for me because I'm otherwise something of an insomniac.

It depends what you are doing ... combat should wake you up, but for much of the time travelling, you are looking at a relatively small portion of the screen, with everything moving past your peripheral vision. That could be what is doing it. But, I'm not a doctor 🤷‍♂️
I've never fallen asleep during PVP combat, but I have done so when bounty farming. There is something about Elite: Dangerous that's soporific. I think it's those dust motes that fly towards you in that windows screensaver kind of way. It's hypnotic. You can use that to your advantage. Try repeating life-affirming suggestions to yourself as you play the game

I'm not going to fall asleep
I'm not going to fall asleep
I'm not going to fall asleep
I'm not going to fall asleep
I'm not going to f... zzzZZZZ

I think the hum of the engines and systems and all those lovely ambient ship noises also play a role. My wife often sleeps with a fan heater on, the noise from which is also highly hypnotic.

I'm very confused, for about few months when I start play ED, after 15-20mins I'm getting very sleepy. When I stop play I'm not sleepy. The funnies part is, that this happens to me when I play ED only. No other games cause such a feeling on me. Anyone else noticed such a behaviour?

Yea, it always happens to me when i do laser mining.
What a pain was to unlock the engineers requiring mining stuff OR the Explorer's Anchorage GC

There are many who are never came back.

What makes you sleepy in real life looking for a great sleep? We who have to deal with life every day knows what we need to get there so the next morning we can deal with life. Perhaps just the right position in the bed and which side you sleep on? The right emotional hold with that person next to you? Thinking about a fantasy moment. Mine is landing a Python on the White House lawn in the USA and resolving the world's problems with ED weapons that would make nuclear weapons obsolete. I watch too many cable political channels during the day. Our pets getting as close as possible to us in bed and when they feel safe I've done my job protecting them. A humming sound with a Wave machine, leaving the TV on or not, the background engines in a Star Trek TNG episode or the sound of the engines of your ED ship. Maybe some go to sleep with the Asp Explorer engines! Meanwhile Star Trek TNG talks a lot even with the engine sounds.

Other players may partake using adult beverages or modern chemistry. That is their decision. The only concern playing ED is how anyone wakes up is wondering how they are looking at a rebuy screen.

Some things in Elite Dangerous are so repetitive that they could make anyone fall asleep. Like pressing the hyperspace button and watching the loading screen hundreds of times in a row.

I used to cross the length and width of the US. Cross oceans to other continents. Driving and flying myself.

Jumping in Elite is worse.
Many decades ago when I was young and in the USA Navy I was on leave leaving the Philadelphia shipyards going home to Indiana. Ten hours. I was driving a 1973 Opel GT which was laughingly called at the time a mini-corvette. Well, it looked similar but no way would it ever compete with one. I pulled off on the interstate. Suddenly a policeman with his lights on was behind me. He came up to my window and asked why did I stop? I replied that I was getting sleepy and the other Navy guy in the passenger seat was going to take over the driving. He applauded my decision and let us go on our way.

Later I crossed the USA in this car multiple times marrying a High School sweetheart and driving her to Los Angeles where we lived for 26 years. It was so amazing seeing the western desert versus the eastern full of trees. Later we as a family went for more appropriate cars but I'll always miss the first car I ever bought.

In ED I no longer have that Navy guy sitting in the passenger seat. I have three loving caring dogs I consider my Multi-crew but their paws don't quite fit on human controllers. They do tell me when it is time to quit playing ED and play with them. Thus when I get sleepy my dogs will keep me awake.

This is not my car but what it looked like less the European plate and driving lights. I had white vinyl with black dots for eyeballs a little cross eyed on the light covers which got a lot of smiles. Like my Type-9 in ED 2015 I miss those simpler days.

ALL jokes aside but in answer to your question... Yes! I find myself dropping off after 30 mins of EDH... I put it down to my age (62) and prescribed pharmaceuticals I have to take for symptoms stemming from a historical serious injury.... however it does only happen when I'm playing the game... it obviously has an inbuilt soporific special effect!

(It can be difficult to explain waking up with ''Q.W.E.R.T.Y' printed backward on your forehead!)

Doggies are waaaay cooler than humans. :)

With cars, there are convenience stores and rest stops. Good call.

Now, let's let Frontier explain no NPC crew. :)

Yeah.. im not sure about combat.. but for everything else, the lack of player agency, and the common time of late at night to play elite can easily do this. Its a really odd effect i agree.

Try playing during the day, it happens less, and give the game a break too.

I would love to be able in-game to give the pilot's seat to a crew-member, and just take a look around while he makes all the hyperjumps and supercruise flight.

I just got to what many would consider my "end game" in ED. I'm available. Still many other places in ED I haven't done yet.
