We're basically a year maybe bit more away from 2020 release

I remember Zac saying last year that exploration contents development wouldn't stop after 3.3 so I expect to see something new in one of these minor updates and in the "new era". TBH I expect atmospheric planets in the new era... 😗

Perhaps a hint at Lavecon? Expect some WIP based on past years ("phones off!!") so most likely WIP on this years additions, or perhaps just maybe something about 2020 New Era.

Who knows.

They need to embrace “worse”.

There’s a lot of inaction because “Don’t break anything”
“Easier for noobs”

Embrace the breakage.
You’re going to break it anyway.
So break some stuff that might make it better.

Honestly, I do not have any hopes for this Lavecon regarding new info about 2020 Q4 Update (New Era).
The information flow might start around the end of this year, or at the beginning of next year but I expecting the full scale announcement and demonstration around next summer (E3 2020 or Lavecon 2020)

However, during Lavecon 2019, FD could share some information about next minor update. We've been told that those updates will be out every 3-4 month, so it is about time for a new one.
Horizons was announced at Gamescom in August 2015 and released in December 2015. As this next update is presumably a paid update, I expect similar timeframes to apply here. I would love to optimistic and think that Frontier will announce something in 2019, but based on their inability to trust the player base, I expect to hear nothing for another 14 months or so.

Personally, I find the "we're going to show some of you stuff but not the others" attitude that Frontier has to be really annoying. What about those in other countries where travelling to holiday mecca that is Northampton is not a realistic proposition?

Yes. But for pities sake do it in a way that actually makes sense FDev. Like there is an actual long term plan.

Gotta say, although I'm a little bit concerned about Adam Woods' "vision" for ED (he seems a bit biased toward pew-pew), it has to be said that under his stewardship ED's updates have always fulfilled their intentions.
Sure, there have been bugs and things have been delayed but I prefer that to the previous era of getting a mish-mash of half-baked ideas which rarely fulfilled their intentions and then never get revised afterwards.

2020 will definitely be the first big test of Adam W's abilities but the stuff he has overseen, so far, has been pretty solid IMO.

That can't be a bad sign.

Adam isn't the Game Director, he's a Senior Producer (I think I'm right?)

Frontier released the snippets of video from last year afaik. Most of Lavecon is a meetup, not insight into development secrets. Any info is known immediately to the rest of us.
