water parks

A lot of people seem to think that a water park "doesn't fit" with theme parks, but I believe I found a solution that may work for all of us.

If a water park DLC is ever released, the people who want it can purchase it, and the people who dont want it can ignore it; similar to other DLC for Planet Coaster.

Anyone agree with this?

But if it's a paid DLC, you'll just get dozens of posts complaining that it should have been in the base game all along, and if it's free, you'll see dozens of posts saying they should have spent their time and effort "fixing" all the "broken bits" instead. [yesnod]

❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎ if you do, ❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎ if you don't!!! [happy]

Yeah it might be the first DLC I don't bother with, but who knows?

I, personally, am not a fan of water parks and wouldn't buy a water park DLC. The only way I would purchase it is if it wasn't just limited to wave pools, lazy rivers, mat slides, etc.; but we also received more water rides such as: chute the shoots, super flumes, and paddle boats. So limiting it to just water slides and pools would be a turn-off for me, but adding some other water-related amusement rides could persuade me to purchase.

I agree as well. I would buy the waterpark DLC if it included different water rides besides just lazy rivers and mat slides.

Yeah, this is by no means enough. It needs to be the full set of all types of slides currently out there. All the various tube kinds, including synchronized drop races, plus the ones with rafts that feed into looping funnels, and the ones that feed into enclosed spirals. And a wave pool. And a kiddie area with aimable water guns and jets triggerable by peeps when other peeps walk over them.

Also, there needs to be a functioning locker room facility for peeps to change into their bathing suits and back to street clothes.

AND, to make the whole DLC more attractive to folks who aren't interested in water parks per se, it needs to have some water-based attractions for amusement parks. Such as more types of boat rides: steamboats, sailing ships, keelboats, canoes, paddle boats, and submarines.

Personally, I would LOVE to have a DLC like this.

I also stopped playing and the reason is a bit silly: I went on vacation and took my laptop with me. It's an older beast, so Planet Coaster won't run so I decided to play RCT3 with the waterparks add-on. After I went back to Planet Coaster, I missed the pools and water stuff immensely, so I lost interest...

Seems like the focus now is themed DLC’s with a few rides, coasters, and scenery pieces. A Soaked like DLC would have to be way bigger. And I sense that there are some ride types from RCT that PC’s code can’t do at the moment, like swan boats, bumper boats, mazes, etc. And swimming pools or anything that guests interact with the water outside of a ride vehicle.

There used to be times, when such an expansion was normal. Not today. While Soaked was filled with content and new features, today it´s just some content, skins, bscly no gameplay changes or improvement. Yet, people celebrate this kind of DLCs, so it´s obvious why there won´t be a big one. It´s cheaper to produce, but they can sell it at quite high price and mainly, they can release several of them throughout the year. Win Win for Frontier.

I would [heart][heart] to see a Water DLC pack for PC. However Bo, a Frontier staff member, confirmed in an earlier post this year that ideas like swimming pools etc wouldn't quite fit in. Meaning it could be too much work and trouble for Frontier. I'd love to see swimming pools, waterslides, and bumper boats in this game. However we have building tools and pieces (scenery, building items) where plays can emulate say a waterpark like creating swimming pools and water slides through scenery and building pieces. Silvaret, a major YouTuber, has already created his is it koala something park which has this.

However Frontier is like one of the biggest game developers in the world at creating simulation games. Zoo Tycoon, Screamride, a Kinect game for Xbox 360.

As for pricing, yes there are those who would be happy to pay for a new DLC and those who aren't. And if it's free, they complain how there's games or bugs with the DLC. But games and bugs are not due to a single DLC.

Frontier has provided free additional rides and updates since the full version of this game came out. Yet people are complaining how the game may have bugs etc. There are even people who complain about the cost of the base game itself. So pricing and imperfect software are no excuse not to consider a water DLC.

I have seen multiple threads from this year and last year requesting this feature. So there IS a DEMAND for it.

People love water rides. When they mentioned in one of Frontier's YouTube videos of river rapids and log flume ride coming to the game, Frontier got a lot of upvotes and positive feedback. So yes there's a demand for something like this.

There still exist the complexity of people having to change and being able to view them in cinematic, 3rd person and 1st person views going through a water slide etc. But I sure would like to see a water DLC for PC. Who knows, maybe they'll release one within the next 5 years. Then again, it's not the end of the world if they don't release it. Frontier could "surprise" us again......

I agree entirely. That being said, people complaining if free DLC update containst bugs or brings some problems is completely valid. Especialy if there is no option not to download the DLC. Free DLC shouldn´t be an excuse for buggy or either way content that doesn´t work as good as it could.

I know people already emulate pools and stuff with scenery, but what´s the point? In that case, whole game could be just a set of non-functional scenery (including rides) and I can actually some people would be happy about it....

Would be awesome to see these types of slides:
-Speed tube body slide (with/without bowl at the end)
-Racing slides (with merged slide parts)
-raft slides (with bowl, cone, uphill parts, halfpipe etc)
-group raft slides
-water coasters (like hydromagnetic rocket)
-wild river body slides with pools and multiple slide ways
-trap door slides (with loops)
-surf/stand up slides
-freefall slides
-cannonball jump slide
Specials: black hole parts, led light effects, water effects, sound effects, interactive

My guess is with Frontier now doing Planet Zoo (animals swimming in the ponds) we might be on our way to waterparks after that.

Of course after water parks Frontier is going to have to make those who want a zoo/waterpark/theme park happy. That would hopefully be PlanCo 2

Ps: Disney may have separate theme parks and waterparks... But they’ve got a zoo with coasters. (Animal Kingdom)
