Let me buy the Cobra MK IV please.

Hi guys!
I'm currently interested in upgrading my MK3 to the more hardy MK4. I want to be better armed and armoured, when getting intercepted and attacked on my cargo runs.

So, I had to google where to find the MK4, because station after station, I cannot find it anywhere! So google said this place near me, Alchita has the MK4 for sale. Okay then. Super cruised 400K Lsecs (while popping out for a bacon sandwich from over the road cafe teehee!) And I get to the station, pop into the Shipyard and....

No Cobra MK4. Just 8/8 ships for sale, one being a Cobra MK3! So all the websites I saw this was in are wrong? I think something's fishy here.

Can anyone tell me where the hell I find this illusive ship, please? Thanks!

(Oh, I'd also like to point out, that I backed the game's kickstarter when it first started. I was one of the earliest backers (before 2016). Does that mean I get to have the MK 4 Cobra? If so, how do I get it? Thanks)

Yes, is the answer. I was one of the very first backers, and I feel cheated beyond comprehension.
If you purchased Horizons within the period required to qualify for the Cobra MkIV, or pledged to the Digital Download tier (or above), or bought the Lifetime Expansion Pass at or before when Horizons was released, contact Support.

Thanks for reply, sorry to have wasted your time, Robert, but I already know this having posted my above post... and that is why I among others feel cheated.

Well, you already know that answer : No. It was associated with certain conditions, which you don't meet - just like you don't get to win last week's lottery, as you didn't pick those numbers last week 🤷‍♀️
That's not the same as this issue.

The lottery is a chance event open every week - sometimes multiple times a week and is available any time during the week to participate.

Attaining an exclusive made ship to certain people who paid money within a certain limited one off time frame is completely different, and alienates all other customers, some of whom made the making of this game possible from attaining that ship. Nothing like playing the lottery.

It is more like rewarding people who have more money to pay than others, then penalising people who can't pay money at certain time zones, or enter into certain social media applications, or pay full price as opposed to sales. Not fair in my opinion. Which is why this issue has so much attention from moderators, and the community manager's beady eye...

in a word, rubbish.

Yes the lottery maybe an extreme example, but your example. Is like me going the bookmakers and saying. I didn't have the cash last week, but I would have bet on that horse that came in at 10 to 1. So I'd like to make that bet now and collect my winnings.

Your bookies example is still incorrect, you and the other poster have made examples based on games of chance, which are not the same related to exclusivity and discrimination.

What discrimination? This I have to hear.

While the subject is raised: Where's my rainbow paint jobs?

Sorry if that's how you feel but yep, I am.
So you do think I shouldn't have the ship?

Your not losing anything by me flying the ship. Your only gaining because more people are happy to play a game you helped. Maybe a few players come back to the game to try the c4 and end up staying, buying paint jobs, supporting the game.

Just another view you could take

Sorry, I don't understand. I think you definitely should have the ship. Rewarding customers who supported Frontier from the start is all good and should be a thing. But rewarding customers and excluding all others, just for watching twitch or paying full price for something not even on sale is not really fair in my retail-experienced mind.

While I'd personally be pleased for you to get access - someone like me would be losing something if you did, and that something is confidence and respect in the company FDev.
I've said it before - but it's worth reiterating - FDev (and DBOBE himself) committed themselves to the C4 being a "limited reward" - and I happen to strongly believe in integrity and the freely given agreement that ought not to be disregarded or broken.

I can say with utter conviction, however, the C4 is not actually that good a ship. You're not missing much. Perhaps this was deliberate on the part of FDev - to provide something "mediocre" as a limited reward, so as not to create any imbalance between oldies and newbies.

I haven't logged on to my PC account for over 18 months, having been using my PS4 account with no access to the C4 - and I can confirm that in all that time I've never felt I'm missing out, and that after trying it on the PC account. I honestly don't understand what all the fuss is about.

Mate... you should see how we, over on ESO feel about having our striped senche tigers over shadowed by the awesome mounts you can now buy. Perhaps there is solace to take from the many reports of players stating that the [unmentionable] is not that good. But it makes one now aware that Frontier are trying to get people to jump through hoops in order to get exclusive rewards.. Ever heard of the Pigeon experiment? Social conditioning for "rewards"... in exchange for money.

All I really wanted was to be able to buy a ship, to find out about it being an exclusive thing to people who paid money at a certain time kinda stuck in my teeth and got me a little heated. So then further down the Rabbit hole, I find it's not just the Cobra that Frontier are doing this with. The assertive customer in me screams to refuse anything Frontier announce and demand that I should do in order to get a "reward". Because it makes one 'conditioned', and I refuse to be a slave.

If certain customers weren't able to jump through the hoops set by Frontier at the time they choose, they are then discriminated against for not playing ball. The Pigeon/subject/targeted customer gets no 'food'.

As far as I see, you just started posting in order to have a forum argument... get in touch with support and find out where your Cobra Mk IV is and while you're at it tell them you don't want anyone unworthy to have one.
If you read the posts, you'd notice I'm not arguing with anyone. Also, why should I tell Frontier to not let unworthy people have something? That's not what my standpoint is. You need to understand what you read better.

I hold with you here... your point about the social reward is very worrying, I for one refuse to agree to anything google want and that includes yootoob so I can't/won't/don't use them.. I am potty mouthed whenever I see their agreement pop-up, as for anyone else...a case by case basis, but, I advise you hold by your beliefs and refuse to be drawn deeper.
as for the Cobra Mk IV... as I said in an earlier post, I don't care.. but that's me.

Is that it?? You mention 'discrimination' and I ask, what discrimination? So all you can do, is criticise the position of my balls.

Let's get back to your alleged discrimination, shall we?
I've already addressed that, sorry if you missed it. But I'm not going to let you learn more about it, because you didn't talk to me at a certain time, although people who did talk to me at a certain time did get to learn more about it. Sorryyyyy <shrug>

Tell me, how does that make you feel?
