They have botched this update so bad that i wonder if it will end the game

Nah, in a few days and a few more patches most of this stuff will be fixed, and with luck it won't break anything else. And we'll all have a final laugh about how an update that brings so little can break so many things, and move on.

It is a bit annoying (and loads of fun too, lots of popcorn material), it shows that FD's should really have a QA department to properly test these bloody things before they're released, but ultimately none of this is the end of the world.

They obviously dont have their A team working on elite and this update seems to indicate that they are trying to milk the players for what cash they can get.
Have they screwed it up so bad that it would cost more money to fix it than they think its worth?

No doubt there'll be a few muppets along shortly to try to paint over it with flowers and their usual nonsense which no-one believes :)

It's probably our ISPs fault :)

It's all doom and gloom with you kids... I don't usually even bother reading these because it's all crying about how someone who does a job that's harder than whatever you do is somehow imperfect. How dare they! We can't all be robots! I mean, hell, I make mistakes too because I'm only half cyborg!

Well if their job is to mess up a patch/release... They're definitely doing a great job! :)

Have they? I've played for about 3hrs so far, or in the new terminology earned 28 ARX points and the biggest problem I've seen is targeted station icons being oriented the wrong way.

Barely noticed any difference to the actual game, the speed chevrons look kind of cool but a little out of place (I'll get used to it) and make it marginally harder to see actual speed vs requested speed because it's not a straight line indicator any more.

I think if you don't like the new cosmetic stuff the solution is simple. Don't spend any money on cosmetics & if enough people feel the same way FDev will be motivated to change it.

Well, it's pretty disappointing (although sadly not unusual) that things that weren't supposedly part of the update are now no longer working...

Engineering is messed up, some modules in storage appear to have lost engineering mods and the hologram of the station in SC is no longer representative of the actual station's alignment when you drop out.

Not necessarily a sign of imminent doom, but pretty poor quality control.

You're not talking about that big blue cosmetic store button in the station menu are you?

I also would like to know what FD screwed up this time. So far, by watching streams etc, I havn't seen anything bad going on. What am I missing, OP?
