[Video] Open letter from community to Elite Dangerous

Minor correction: Peak of concurrent players. Assuming that everyone played ~ 2 hours (some more, some less) we had ~ 30-60.000 individual players on Steam today.

Unfortunately none of these approximate calculations really count, as you also have to take into account the percentage of those players who don't know about the petition, agree but wouldn't sign, etc. It's fair to say that any number of signatures in that number range is going to be 'statistically significant' . You are right that it should have been more neutral with alternate/counter points if you want any real data though.

I'm not sure that speaking to "us" is a good idea. If "us" is the group of people such as myself who are relatively happy with ED, and just have the occasional suggestion regarding how they think the game could be made better, and only complain when something game-breaking occurs (such as the disastrous September update), that would be okay.

But if "us" is that group of whiney and consistently negative men-children who think everything needs to be changed (some want this, some want that, but in total their demands would overwhelm and eventually kill the game), and keep telling us that Frontier are a greedy company, or that ED "has no gameplay", then I think that group is best ignored.

I think this is a very good point.

The things I would like to see:

- More information on what bugs from the issue tracker are being worked on and when (e.g point release or major patch)
- New content info - The 2020 update I mean it's not a military secret just tell us what you're aiming for
- The dev diaries / sneak peaks / all the cool stuff I see them doing for PZ and JWE the stuff that made us feel a bit more connected to the team not just the CMs

But I also agree with you that the "do this do that" shouting isn't something to interact with.

I want to be excited about the future of Elite I want to have faith in Fdev and want to feel like they are trying to make the best game they can. At the moment I have to assume they are but thats my issue I have to assume, they don't want to tell me.

Now I'm not entitled to be told anything hence why this is what I would like to see.

There is no statistical relevance at all. That's not how statistics work. It's an impressive number nevertheless, it just doesn't tell us anything.
