Federal Corvette... Maybe we've had it wrong all this time.

After moving to ED, I still want that playstyle and rushed for a big ship....

Well there's your problem, right there.

Every step, and every ship, in ED should be teaching you about what works, what doesn't, what to do and what not to do.
Rushing to get to big ships means you don't learn the advantages and weaknesses of all the ships you've ignored.

As for the Corvette, it can dogfight with Vultures and FdLs perfectly well.

The scenario OP describes doesn't exist in Elite though.

It's still great for PvE, but what isn't?

to the OP.. please don't use heal beams in PvP - all that will happen is that your opponents will lose any respect they had for you.

The reality is TLB will prevent you from applying firepower in any meaningful way. You will get pummeled from all sides and if you are lucky enough to not get grommed as you try to highwake you will leave the instance without having accomplished very much.

I purchased a Vette lately and have been keeping it a secret from all but my squad, after reading your post now it's out. The thing I like about the Corvette is the way it flies and sounds. It is built with quality from stem to stern. Engineer it correctly and it is what it is suppost to be- the front line combat ship to support other ships like the FGS, FAS and FDS. This thing was built to take a beating while handing one out but the quality is like driving a Cadillac over a Mini- nothing compares.

She's not quite ready as far as engineering but will be very soon. I named her "Judgement Day" and on that day gankers prepare for your re-buy screen.
*That should bring them to me as you said lol

Until you want to fight Thargoids.

The first Thargoid I took out I took out in an Orca rigged for Search and Rescue operations.

Later ones were taken with a Federal Gunship and Fer de Lance rigged for extreme damage.

Then I decided they simply weren't much fun to mess with, paid too little, and since they weren't actively bothering me, I wasn't going out of my way to bother them.
