Engineered FSD

Hi commanders,

I've engineered my FSD on my ASP Explorer for better jump range. Its up to 48 lys.
Question. If i store my FSD and put it in another ship does it keep the engineering.

Thanks,

Commander Ivorsmallun.

Yeah, as long as you actually rebuy you won't lose anything on the ship (although you'll still lose cargo and scan data, of course). If you take the freewinder option, you lose everything on the ship-- the ship itself, modules, engineering mods on those modules. Gone.

All your parked ships and stored modules are safe in either case.

Hi there everyone Im new to the site and pretty new to the game as well, so I'm still trying to learn about everything.

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if, once iv modified a module via the engineers have i then used that modification as like as "one time use"? because basically the module i modified was not the best one available.. so if i now buy the best module of that type will i be able to apply the same modification to the new module?

yup - as long as you have more materials

Once you've 'unlocked' a mod, you can use it as many times as you like.
It will cost you materials every time.

Blummin ninjas!

And if You make use of those Blueprints, at the engineer, You will not have to travel to do another module!

iv known about the Guardian blueprints but have never known how to go about getting them? are they found through the engineers as well or do you have to do something different I take it?
And how do you get a pilots license with one of the major superpowers (Federation,Empire and.. Alliance?) because I'm trying to work my way up to getting "Federation navy missions" i haven't even got a federation permit?
very new to the game as you can tell lol.

You need to get to certain abandoned Guardian facilities, and do a little scan puzzle. Collect materials and blueprints. Then you go to tech broker and buy thing you wanted. Difference to engineering is that for certain type of device you need to do this just once. Say you get FSD booster, now you can buy those FSD boosters to every ship you'll have without any additional grind.

You get navy ranks by getting high reputation for Federation or Empire. Running missions is one way. At some point there will be navy promotion mission on missionboard, take and complete it, and now you have some rank. Rinse and repeat ad nauseum and eventually you are either Imperial Duke or Federal Rear-admiral and get access to all nice toys and interesting systems (well at least Sol system is kind of interesting place to visit...).
