The ADS

NO, you made the statement you prove it. Otherwise, it seems you are talking out of your rear exhaust yet again.

No no it doesnt work like that. When i wanted to know who said what and who had left in the old threads i had to go back and read every post. If you want facts and figures you go and find em.

Okay, in that case FD have categorically stated that the ADS will not return in any shape or form.

:D

Not by me it doesn't - not according to what is below anyway :D

Have fun searching :D:D:D
The figures banded about don't really show much and doesn't say anything about how many are exploring.

The figures are based on FDevs systems discovered so far and the systems and planets discovered on EDSM.

While it can extrapolate some information it doesn't take into account a lot of other stuff. It's flawed and not an accurate way to see if the new mechanics are a success or not.

For instance, I am exploring around the abyss at the moment and 70-80% of the systems I have jumped to have already been discovered. None of those will appear on any official stats.

He wants me to provide a quote of somebody talking about fdev and their metrics. Cause if i cant then no such numbers exist or something. I say its been spoken about regulalry i just cba to dig it out.

Well if you can't back it up maybe leave it to be said by someone that can :)

This isn't a quick-fire chatroom, it's okay to wait for a response from someone else if you aren't sure.

That is exactly what I was proving - of course the statement I wrote can't be verified, I made the damn thing up. But it was effective, Cmdr Burke does have a history of opening his mouth only to change feet, maybe you, Cmdr Riverside can get him to not make grandiose statements and then get offended when someone asks for proof.

Give it a rest M00ka, Burke was just trying to be helpful.

I don’t think the fss is trying to hide that it’s nothing more than a token gesture of activity before giving you all but mapping rewards from exploration without actually doing anything. Given the autopilot modules as headline features now, the whole theme of the fss sits right next to all that.

There is zero depth to the gameplay, no jeopardy, no scope for improving the results. In a non judgemental tone it literally is just tedium.

If you’re not just getting heated up about the rewards (likely referring to them as cheese or something similar) and looking at something per hour metric... which the fss bang on answers.. it just doesn’t work.

The only thing frontier promoted about it was game metric efficiency...

Unfortunately the spite and nastyness is evident on both sides. I got dragged down, after being very reasonable at the beginning. Seems to happen in these threads, I come with good intentions, bit I get dragged down. I think I will avoid these threads from now on, as they just become a toxic cesspool.

While there are indeed a tiny number who oppose any formed of restored ADS functionality moved primarily by spite and using only drive-by insults as "arguments" (there's also a couple who show up every now and then just to troll), I surely do not count you among them. You have explained your reasoning several times and even though I do not fully agree, I think your reasons are fair.

I've personally been doing my exploration in Space Engine after the update. Relaxing exploration in a beautiful galaxy without a boring minigame every time jumping into a new system. Then followed by some space combat in Infinity Battlescape for some thrills. Instead of Codex there are like, actual books that have some proper indepth worldbuilding.

So in 70-80% of all systems you have the ADS-FSS scan method active FDev included to make FSS scanning less annoying. 🤔
No wonder you like "exploration" 😂

Sorry, couldn't resist.
Nope. I ignore them and move on to the next unless it shows a space based POI as it ruins my exploration method. I would much prefer if that wasn't in the FSS at all. I find it extremely annoying, but I put up with it for people that do want it in. I don't incessantly go on about it or continuously call for its removal.

I have no idea why you have to make assumptions and have a joke on me about your assumptions when they are completely wrong.

It's posts like these that turn thread like these into toxic cesspools.

Zadian, I thought you were better then that.

Sorry Riverside, missed this one. For those that haven't checked the link out, it is by Adam Bourke-Waite, Principal Designer ED, dated 18 June 2019 and says:
Hello Commanders,
I wanted to drop in and let you that we have been reading your comments and are aware how some of you feel about the FSS.
When first designing the FSS, we wanted to ensure that it was engaging for as many different player types as possible, but also understood that it would not be possible to design a system that would work for everyone. Before the FSS was implemented, we also collected feedback from discussions on the forum and the beta.
Today, in its current iteration, we’re happy with how the FSS operates and feel that reinstating the ADS would be detrimental to the experience of exploration as it is now.
At the current time, we won’t be making changes to the core of the FSS. While we understand that this may be disappointing for some of you, we would like to thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and feedback with us.

That doesn't sound like FD are going to backflip or are considering reinstating the ADS - quite the opposite in fact. Reads to me they are happy with the FSS, understand that they couldn't please everyone and won't be making changes. Pretty black and white if you ask me.

You guys had an FSS thread and didn't tell me about it?

That's cold :(
I think the key point there is they stated "no changes to the core of the FSS" which is vague and non-specific, it also would not run counter to the principle of adding an ADS (or something similar) as a supplemental tool (not a replacement for the FSS - no core changes would be required necessarily). What it ultimately highlights though is FD is out of touch with the community it is supposedly listening to and are ignoring the rights of those adversely affected by the removal of the ADS and the introduction of the FSS as a "mini-game barrier" to gameplay.

If FD as a collective honestly consider the FSS engaging gameplay then they do not really have a clue what "engaging gameplay" actually is IMO.

Thanks. Much appreciated.
