Elite not very dangerous ?

Have you ever scanned a compromised nav beacon with cargo in your ship's hold? Give it a go and let us know how you did there.
I wrecked every single NPCs in less than 5 minutes. I can easily take on a Medusa by myself but thanks to proper game balancing I run out of ammo before I can kill it, no I will not use synthesis or any other kind of cheese.
Compromised Nav Beacon is about as challenging as a Minecraft dungeon spawner.

Whats wrong with synthesis ?.

There are a lot of ways to make game more challenging (better) without alienating large portion of player base like differentiating skills among npc's more with elites flying REAL human builds with g5 engineering and with access to ALL experimental effects, not only meaningless ones like phasing and corrosion, combat zones should easily be more difficult and high being just full of g5 npc's, now only difference is time required to finish them in any engineered combat ship (even small ones). Adding some credit sinks like landing fees, scaling fines and bounties with ship size/cost would be good addition too, giving more depth. I don't think that design that require player to pvp to have any sort of challenge is good for any game. Of course there are other ways to do it, but they require direct increase of content, those are simpler.

Resource management and preparedness are skills.
Preparedness is not, that's where you are wrong. You can't really train your "preperation skills" as it is merely taking enough time for preparing ... whatever it is you want to do. One can invest any amount of time which has nothing to do with skill.

I don't mean to complain … but … is it me, or is Elite Dangerous now, not very dangerous at all?

If someone from FD reads this, can you please turn the threat up level a bit?

Apart from very fixed, defined, scenarios (i.e. you have to go looking for trouble...) the game is kind of boring. It would be nice if the danger came to me sometimes :)

Currently one of my favourite mission techniques is to stack a lot of pirate assassination missions, as this forces a lot of random(ish) pirate encounters. But this only works if I plan on going to the systems where those missions are based.

More random encounters please! I'd welcome a few "NPC griefers" from time to time … just anything to break up the boredom of going from A>B :)

IMHO it would go a long way to making the game world feel a bit more alive.
fix combat logging... DONE

Its as dangerous as you want it to be.

If you insist on flying a fully engineered top end ship, then it probably won't be that hard.
AH here we go again with the dumbest rejoinder in the world. Thanks for zero insight.

A boring movie is also super exciting if you bring your laptop into the theatre and watch a better movie instead. Therefore, the boring movie is exciting.

A baby's toy is super challenging (and therefore engaging and sophisticated) so long as you don't insist on using your hands and eyes to put the triangle shaped block through the triangle shaped hole.

Yeah if you deliberately break the game or cut yourself off from features built into the game, Elite is really hard to play and therefore a challenge. Thanks let me go get my Guitar Hero controller; you are a genius just like the mission, AI, and scenario designers at Fdev.

Who's more skilful the dude who runs out of fuel or the one who doesn't ?.

Not in the forum, tho? Thought you were more like a repeater.

Quoting the wrong person ?.
