Gonna have to agree here. There's absolutely no place for a Challenger in my arsenal. My Chieftain is less expensive (by a significant portion), has "better" firepower, and... well..
WHY does that second C6 internal exist? Hull reinforcements only go up to class 5! What am I going to put there? A shield cell bank? On a hull tank? No thank you.
You want a good combat ship to bridge the gap between a Vulture and any other mid to high tier combat ship? Get a Chieftain. Want a Chieftain that can launch fighters, and still has that "Chieftain feel"? Get a Crusader.

That's pretty much how I feel about it.
It's not a bad ship on it's own, but as part of a larger roster, it just doesn't have a place.
I have eight ships (and that's all I want) and it will stay in for a long while I suspect. The price to performance aspect is very good for the Chief. (aka: buy back or deductible or ... is real nice) I doubt I'll be testing the Challenger but I do like its thruster placement better vs the Chief's.

You could use the Challenger for megaship and installation work. Enough small slots for limpet controllers and 64t cargo for escape pods and the like while good enough combat prowess to fight off pirates or other attackers. Also its nimbleness makes maneuvering around the structures easier.

I will be honest, I normally avoid any 'content provider' that has to resort to plugging their videos in a forum. I detest those talking heads who will readily jump on the latest 'we hate FD' threads, just shows a distinct lack of well everything.
But your video was the exact opposite, critical without being anti-FD/anti-ED. I even watched a couple of your other videos (Anaconda and Python - although I disagree with your summation of the Python in some regards lol). So my kudos to your Sir, you have gained a new audience member

At some point in time, The, you're going to have to compile a Year in Review or Catalog Post with all these videos in one place, for our browsing pleasure.
Saw the video today. I definitely like how you have your reviews set up. Just like Top Gear, which is honestly, the best way to review them in my opinion. Looking forward to seeing what the next ship will be. Perhaps the Adder or the Federal Corvette.
