Full ADMIRAL or KING rank to purchase a Fleet Carrier?

Wouldn't it be a kick of FDev required full ADMIRAL or KING rank to purchase a Fleet Carrier? Discuss. o7
I started the idea of associating Admiral or King as part of the cost of acquiring a carrier, and I hope Frontier picks up the ball and makes it happen. It would finally give credence to those that went or are willing to go the extra distance.

I don't see why that would be such a bad idea, those ranks exist for a reason and FCs would fit in nicely, at least some superpower-specific variants of them.

I see no point in rank-locking FCs, assuming they are ever introduced.

I am Elite in trade and Admiral in Fed ranking but, to be honest, I don't see the point of FCs.

Some have suggested that a 500 LY jump range is an advantage...but my AspX and Conda can both do that in 11 jumps anyway - which equates to about 11 minutes of playing time.

What then is the point of an FC that I cannot pilot, cannot fly...and a ship that doesn'y even allow me to visit the bridge?
I think you misunderstand the role of fleet carriers.

I wonder how many respondents to this thread are only in favour of rank locking the FC behind a Full Admiral or King simply because they have already achieved that level?

I couldn't possibly say. But as a holder of both I would expect it. :)

How about so the rest of the galaxy does not have to put up with a bunch of very difficult or impossible-to-destroy Fleet Carriers being flown by Harmless-ranked Commanders?

Ooh: How about, a CMDR purchasing an FC must be a KING or ADMIRAL and ranked Triple-Elite? There's incentive for a CMDR to grind. 😁
Personally, I am a loner and currently have zero interest in owning a FC, I just like to ...

King isn't exactly hard to get. In the right systems you can go from Outsider to King in less than a day. Admiral is a bit more time consuming, but apart from a few die hard Hudson supporters who wants to go to extra effort just to get a more spartan utilitarian look to your multi-billion credit mobile home?

No. It would not and why what silly reason would you need that.

you need to be a whale that is grinded and exploited his way into billions of dollars and doesn't enjoy the game anymore unless he gets ever bigger and bigger ship.
