197 days, at the very minimum. Start grinding time folks!

Most of the video seems pretty reasonable to me. (y)

Don't agree with the last part, though, purely 'cos I kind of like the idea of just getting out there and plodding around, doing my own thing, even if that means spending a bunch of time doing pseudo-mining for whatever resources the FC needs.

The main thing that worries me (aside from FCs causing game-breaking bugs) is the possibility of having to buy and upgrade a heap of modules before I can disappear forever in my FC.
No idea if FDev plan on making the components of FCs upgradeable (as opposed to simply buying upgraded components) but I wouldn't be surprised if they do... and I hope they don't.

Yeee never been one for BUILDING or amassing massive thing that I need to constantly poke so it doesnt die or what ever. BUT HEY as said : just wen to see a thing made well and I wont have too much to say negative about. The game blaance doesnt exist soo there is not much to say beyond "the game neers re-balance..or overhaul"

I'd like to rent one first .... to see if I like it .... how it handles etc. before I hand it back .... or go away to earn whatever it takes, which is very likely to be in billions, rather than millions.

I absolutely HATE renting mechanic in games ... basically it's a "punishing" mechanic in my eyes where your playtime & effort is taken away after a time. It can be useful in some instances, but I have NOT seen a game with a useful renting mechanic aside from Planetside 2 where you spent NO certs for renting, it was just a "here's a trail of a weapon for 2h every day"

Actually, the Beta would solve the "try before you buy" issue nicely.

Jameson is sort of like a FC except that it doesn't move, which makes it easier to find when returning back to it. Not like the first time my Conda just flew away and left me in the SRV. I've grinded billions to be ready for December, but after the delay I couldn't help asking myself why I would need a FC anyways. I'd personally rather have supernovae, globular clusters, proper deadly black holes, more small/medium ships, more modules and less engineering, but on the other hand building ships for new tasks I "invent" in the game is how I spend much of my time in ED, so meh.

I mean. In SC you can rent a larger ship to make enough credits to rent the next larger ship to make enough credits to rent the next larger ship to make enough credits to buy a ship that will be reset anyways because the universe is only partially persistent afaik.
