Just cleared my save

Tomorrow you buy a new account for a turd and a song...
Now why would I want to do a silly thing like that?
That's awesome!
I've restarted twice now; no-where near my current level; usually because I wanted a slightly different head-narrative. It's a ton of fun, starting over.

Oh - and Uranium pays well in the PF zone? ;) I'll remember that!

Cheers!
Uranium? I'm not trading Uranium. I won't tell you what I'm trading but it is very lucrative.
I'm so sorry for you.
I'm not. I'm having a blast.
With this soul crashing amount of grind, i wouldn't even think about clearing my save.
Ranking federation, ranking empire, ranking exploration, ranking trading, ranking combat, unlocking and ranking all engineers, engineering modules, engineering ships, unlocking power play modules, unlocking power play weapons, unlocking all engineers, gathering all those materials, unlocking guardian weapons, unlocking guardian modules, unlocking guardian fighters, getting allied with hundreds of factions, ranking an npc to elite, unlocking colonia engineers.

No way..
Here's a tip. Don't grind. It's not about the destination. It's about the journey. If you're not enjoying the journey, then you are doing it wrong.
I got rich the old way, but to keep myself reasonably affluent I sometimes do deep core mining. Have some good ring and its like long time savings account, and mining there is kind of "withdrawal"....
I don't have to do deep core mining to keep myself affluent. I'm making almost 5k/unit profit. Not much in a Cobra, but when I get to a T-6, Asp X or T-7, it will really start to add up. But you have to start small.
Well that was a silly idea.
That's your story, you stick to it. I'm having loads more fun than when I had all that money and 2 ships. Of course I had basically completed the journey so it was time to start a new one.

I find that 3 accounts is about right depending on how far down the rabbit hole you are.

One as your main in the bubble keeping up with the news.
One out exploring.
One starter account, don't bother with engineering or anything you don't want to etc, just play being small. Its the new thing. What seems to happen is you end up using the ships you went though and superseded or rejected in other accounts, and it becomes the right place to use those ships while the other accounts maintain their attack and don't turn into a cluster of too much choice.

I always enjoyed the journey. But if you say that this game doesn't have grind, then what can i say.
I remember people were telling the same thing with version 1 of engineers lol.

I must be slacking heavily. People are clearing their saves, some done that multiple times even. While I still haven't unlocked engineers beside Felicity... At this pace I'll "finish" the game somewhere in 2025.

Why do people feel they need to clear their save to try some of the best* ships in the game?

*best ships dont necessarily mean the most powerful or the most hit points.

Maybe it's because when you are stupid wealthy, there is not risk in the game. No risk gets boring. I try to keep my bank balance low as its more fun that way. Having my ships actually worth something and worrying about loosing them adds to the game.

When I get back from my exploration trip I expect I will be a billionaire. I will probably reset my save then too. It will likely co-inside with the new expansion too, and if that's space legs, starting out with that again will feel like a whole new game.

You make your own risk, my 0 rebuy for instance works for me :)

Still don't understand why we can't by extra account slots for £10 or so!?
Would definitely make me play my second account more if it was easily accessible. Probably would have to do it launcher selected considering I'm pretty sure they want to keep the double customization/paint job income.

Because that's Konami level terrible.

What I can't understand is why we can't just have multiple commanders.
If we agree each CMDR uses up resources (data etc), and obviously gives some benefit/enjoyment to the player, then I don't see an issue with paying £10 or so to add a slot/CMDR to your account?

Yes, if you've bought additional slots/CMDRs, at Launcher time, or top menu in game time, you can choose which CMDR you want to play as. IMHO, any paint jobs you've bought should be available across all slots/CMDRs. I'd suggets likewise will all such things (even earned paint jobs/logos) just to make it easy...

I truly mean no personal offense here, but that means you are part of the problem.

Consoles can also do it already due to how they work. Let's not pretend it would make poor ol frontier bankrupt to give a player more than one save slot.

To be honest, I reckon it's simply that Frontier haven't gotten around to it.

Well, we have different expectations then :)

That said, the notion was that FD would give us a number of CMDR slots at alpha time if I recall? And then later it was reduced down to one.

Now, I'd love to have a second account/CMDR, but I am not willing to buy a whole stand alone install of the game. It's pointless and messy... If I could simply pay £10 or so and have a tidy/seemless option to flock between my accounts in the launcher or top menu of the game, perfect...

Again, I understand why you might not be happy with this approach...
