RJP - No viewing galleries...?

I personally think it would be weird to have viewing platforms, when the Park is made for driving around. Not being on foot.
Hammond was attempting to create a high tech zoo, and what does every zoo have? Viewing galleries, platforms, or something similar. They weren't planned for the initial opening of the park, but it's guaranteed that they would have eventually been incorporated somewhere.

Another thing I don't understand being excluded from JP era is wide versions of the various paths, I know transportation isn't a concern anymore but seeing a ton of guests packed side by side on a tiny narrow path just doesn't look right.

But you don’t have to use them in the park if you don’t want to. I actually think it’s weird that we don’t get them sure there not jp items but all it is is a viewing platform and all it only needs is a simple redesign to fit in.

This is actually a welcome thing for once.

He was making a safari tour. Not a zoo. We can't say something is guaranteed, when we know nothing about it... They would have to redecorate the entire park, in order to use viewing galleries for the paddocks and the tour vehicles would have no use then, if people were on foot.

Why is it welcome? I'm not saying we should NEED to use wide paths, only that they should be an option if we WANT to use them.

Personally, I find them confusing and like the fact the new paths are halfway.

Of course, they could always add them.

By the same reasoning, however, it's even more jarring that they left out all the Dinos and Dr Wu upgrades.

Now if I still had that waste of space visible, he'd probably say something stupid. Luckily, he's on the ignore list.

I agree. We should make a separate thread and let Frontier know about this.

They wouldn't have been added to every paddock, only smaller enclosures for smaller animals located closer to the visitor center. The raptors are an example of animals that might have eventually had enclosures with viewing galleries due to the extra security needed to keep them contained. Animals like Rexy would still have only been featured in the tour, but there definitely would have been other animals featured in other types of exhibits.

Having just beat the campaign last night and trying out challenge mode this morning, the game is a hell of a lot less convenient with the tour as the sole option.
And Jurassic mode? Forget about it. That'll be damn near impossible to pull off with just the park tour available.
You'll be seconds away from 0 stars every time you need to resize your enclosures to add new ones.

So as a player, are we trying to follow and replicate a park that was already in the movie, instead of creating a park of our own?
Just because the movie doesn't have any viewing platforms, doesn't mean that we can't have one in the game.

Exactly. The game already features dinosaurs and hybrids that were not in the movie, so I don't think there is anything wrong with having a simple viewing platform. Also, I'd rather have new attractions than dinosaurs, since adding new dinosaurs doesn't really add anything new to the game play.

And there are random dino skins that were never in the movies.

Totally agree! Besides that, the paths should give vision of the dinos, even close, so we could build small paddocks with no galleries/towers/tours and the guest will see the dinos.

Seriously, I hate the fact that the paths don't count for visibility.
It doesn't make any sense at all.

I wouldn’t be opposed to having paths provide a small view, depending on what type of fence you use for the enclosure. Considering how in Return to Jurassic Park visitors can see the dinosaurs from tour vehicles traveling alongside the fences, it’s rather bizarre that despite visitors pointing and taking pictures with their phones they can’t see the animals at all.

It would give players the opportunity to build a small Compsognathus enclosure in the visitor area like in the trailer for the DLC and even recreate the Velociraptor holding paddock from the novel to name a couple of examples.

Yeah. Compys and Raptors are the reason why I want to have separate enclosures that don't feature the tour ride.

No, but we're playing in an era 25 years ago and they are following the canon. And the canon didn't have viewing galleries. Pretty simple. It's a safari park. You can just play the regular JW era, if you want those?

This game has never 100% followed the movies. There are tons of dinosaurs + hybrids + skins + building designs that were NEVER in the movies and all those aesthetics were designed by Frontier themselves. Anyway, we need more attractions in the game, and the easiest thing that they can add to the JP era is the viewing gallery.

He may have been making a Safari Tour, but he was also a showman, and would know that a single tour would not be enough diversion to keep Guests on the island for multiple days, or even a full day. There would have had to have been ancillary experiences to get Guests up close to the animals, as well as provide entertainment in between park tours. While I think JW went completely off the rails with the concept, turning it more into a standard WDW/Universal Studios arrangement, I firmly believe Hammond, if successful, would have included more naturalistic ways for Guests to interact with his dinosaurs. Concepts already exist for underwater viewing areas and observation towers. Expanding a little further, I'm sure some of the San Diego concepts would have been revisited on Isla Nublar, especially when it comes to smaller species or dinosaurs that are a little too dangerous to put into close proximity to tour vehicles.
