The same people who are trying to wave this pandemic off as nothing of consequence.

If I had a tinfoil hat lying around here, I would don it and say "Starts to feel like some people/nations actually COUNT on mass death happening for their evil plans - be it military, economic, you name it - to come to fruition . Or at least welcome it, opposing the notion to safe as many lives as possible because of a) "What a waste of resources" and b) "Think of all the opportunities !" .

In other news, voices have popped up during the day informing it has been observed in some areas that males seem to die at a rate of 2:1 vs. females. Probably exciting times to come for us survivors when this all over and done with...
🤡

Oddly positive: Death count in Italy past 24h is 'merely' 651. Still tragic obviously, but if tomorrow sees a count similarly (or even more!) under the previous 793/day it would suggest Italy is truly on the mend! That would mean they'd likely end up with 10-15k deaths overall, which is much better than some of the possible alternatives and a great testimony to the ability to get control of this if only all of us follow instructions and do the right thing.

Oh up for that! What you got on there? Classical, 70s, sea shanties, some metal? Synth pop, Arabic, New Age, Punk?
I Love Music.
Availability?
☺☺☺

Let me know where to get it . Am looking for a birthday present for my daughter . Yes, she is an April's Fool...:D .

Thanks guys! It'll be mostly piano-centric compositions with a string quartet, and at times some (analog subtractive) synthesis and sound design frolicking. It'll be up for streaming for free on Spotify and such starting from April 1st (under the monicker 'Sleutelbos'). There is already some different things there, but the new thing will be quite a bit different. It'll also be for sale elsewhere in lossless formats, but I'd rather not link there as I feel this topic is not the best place to start hawking stuff. And @Synkreto, I suspect your daughter might deserve a better gift. :p

In the United States, while some are lining up in front of supermarkets to stock food, others are waiting in front of armories, like here in Culver City, California. Gun buyers fear the consequences of the epidemic: they may have to defend themselves against people who are won over by the fear of being contaminated.

Terrible image that announces nothing good here for the future. :(

If you're gonna stock up on guns because you fear COVID19 is serious, can you at least do it while keeping 6ft distance...

For more than 95% of the confirmed positive, the pandemic itself will be of little to no consequence
If the economies will collapse, there is a chance that hundreds of millions will suffer fates that might be worse than dying of pneumonia on a hospital bed
But let's hope we dont get there, Covid-19 alone is worse enough

That's a really good idea, the holiday home owners have all turned up in Wales and Scotland and are snowing under the GP's with their entitled posh persons demands that they be immediately registered as patients there.

They are being told to contact their existing GP's where they actually live.
In Norway we are currently banned from going to our cabin/holliday home. As easter is comming soon, this will lead to a collective depresion in the nation.
Half the population is usuall in the mountains, that time of year.

At least the hospitals will hundreds fewer fractured bones and avalence victims, this year.🤪

You are misreading the stats: the 5% is for the cases that have not yet had an outcome. You forgot to factor in that of those cases that have been officially resolved 13% ended in death, which is to most people also quite a consequential outcome. ;)

According to some folks I know who live in the highlands, these holiday home owners on the mainland are also attempting to clear out the local shops by needlessly stockpiling supplies...our local shop owner on the island has also stated on the island Facebook page that temporary incomers...not that there are any that I've noticed to date (there are roughly 400 of us on here)...will be refused service if they are non residents.

Good luck to any of them that do appear and try to argue the point...there are a lot of very large farmers and fishermen who live here who'll willingly show them the error of their ways.

Get enough walk ins the pox will end and the harvest shall be bountiful

Yeah, it concerns me greatly. Due to my background I have a number of friends, Americans and expats, living in a number of large urban centers in the US. I am very concerned with what is happening over there, and not 'amused' at all by how things are being tackled. 25 million of infections in California would inevitably lead to the complete collapse of the medical infrastructure and scenes far beyond what Italy has had to face. Now, eight weeks is far off, relatively speaking. So there is still a lot that can, and should, be done to get things down to more manageable numbers.
TBH at the rate ppl are being infected and prohibition of public assemblies, I'm not even sure if the primaries for the Democrats (nevermind the final race between the two parties) is going to be feasible at that point.

This of course, assumes C19 doesn't compromise the integrity of the Electoral College come November.....

Look at the total # of infected . Substract the # of closed cases . The result = "pending" cases .
Look at the total# of closed cases . Look at the # of recovered/discharged . Look at the # of dead. Gives you a better Idea of how deadly the Beast actually is . Also, some indication of how many of pending and new cases will probably die . Expect that % to go up massively as more and more Healthcare systems around the world get totally overwhelmed . Unless we find a cure rather quick ofc .

Also, think about all the people not dieing to it . Would you say loosing family/friends/close ones would be of little to no consequence ?

I knew it! Covid-19 IS REALLY A WITCH

Sure, which is the reason why the technical approach in California now is to focus on the grim realities of treatment vs expending too much energy on testing (this relevant to a point I made earlier and was immediately denounced by another poster) because from a simple mathematical basis you can't test 25 million people.

That's just one state. There probably aren't 25 million test kits in the world.
Where's Theranos when you need them?
