Are Gankers Pushing People Into Solo?

As a lone wolf type player, the only real difference between solo and open is the occasional unwanted interdiction form a ganker. It’s not frequent enough to really justify changing my ship loadout, but it has been annoying the 2-3 times that I have been ganked for no reason.

this adds literally nothing to the game for me. I don’t understand why they do what they do (much like people that collect sneakers), but I can hop into solo and not worry about it.

I think this whole debate is pretty stupid and played out. You’re not special if you play in open. You’re not a coward if you play in solo. Just play the way that you want because it’s about having fun.
people can play solo or pg untill they have fun in it.
but have no sense be forced in solo or pg to counter pve activities in the same efficient way. thats all.

It's up to each player whether to choose to engage in a pan-modal feature, or not - just as it is up to each player whether to engage in PvP, or not.

If someone keeps nudging you in a pub and making you spill your beer you move, when another does the same thing you may move again, if it continues you might leave... or you may say something that might see tempers flair... their actions caused the problem, but you were goaded into action.

You could use Man A and Man B, and C, if the term you offends you!
Who’s responsibility is it to decide what to do if you’re being nudged? Yours.

i dont want to force people to play open, theres some misunderstanding here, im asking for the possibility to counter PVE activies in open in the same efficient way the solo permit, without be forced in solo. its so clear

I think that conclusion was worked out long ago :)

But as some players are bored, possibly a bit lonely too because of lockdown having a noticable impact on their social life, we have an enjoyable debate about inconsequentials where a pointless argument is thrashed continually as it beats doing nothing instead!

I'm not bored, will be playing (I hope) equally as much when lockdown finishes and will continue to enjoy playing whatever way I wish until the game offers nothing more for me to amuse myself with.

Everything you say in the statement is correct, in my opinion, well said!

All PvE activities can be countered from any game mode or platform using the same methods (that don't require opponents to instance together).

It is each player's choice which game mode to play in - and any inefficiency that may arises is due to that choice.

Yeah... so leaving, removing yourself from the situation is a option, broaching the subject with the person making you spill beer is an option, just as is do nothing and keep getting your beer spilled down you clothes.
so besides stating the obvious have you any other gems to offer?

People can play in carebear mode if they want, i have no problem with your choice. I just personally think that you are missing a fun part of the game in being able to interact with other players and have some fun together. 99% of the people you meet in Open are NOT out to kill you, despite how the forums make it seem that way.

Those are indeed all options. But the responsibility for your actions, reactions, and emotions is yours, that’s my point. Which you’ve agreed to.

so your whole “gankers are the ones responsible for me getting upset over pixels” is bunk. Have a good day

That’s his issue. What’s funny is that’s also something you should be taking issue with too with how many times Ives seen you hump “all modes are equal” to death. But hey logical consistency is for losers right?
Many things in this game occur are a consequence of player choices - mode, ship, outfit, weapons, etc..

A mode bonus has only ever been mooted for Powerplay - twice (March'16 and May'18). It was stated both times that it was not being considered for any other game feature.

Frontier's stance is consistent for a game where PvP is not central to the game design.

I expect that each player's experience of Open is different - as is their preference for / tolerance of PvP.

What PVP? I have been ganked twice in over 700 hours, I have experienced more PVP on the forums than in game.

Oh and no they don't need any approval and nor did i say they did, in fact i said is was their choice.

how i can counter botting in open play?

On the contrary, if a player plays in such a way as to ruin the enjoyment of game play of another player then the offending player is at fault not the one being offended, and claiming anything else is simply not true, it's the weakest defence of any action.

Well you can. You can fly cargo, fight in CZ against NPC's and so on and on. Of course by playing in open there is risk involved of some commander shooting you to pieces, but thats your own choice. If PvP possibility makes you fly less efficient ships thats just feature of mode you are playing in.
