Notice Fleet Carriers - Beta 2 - Commander State Notice

Yes you should feel the pain as if you were in live version. Earn it then test it
The point of a beta is to test the new things (in this case carriers) and this can help the developers to know the bugs so the release can be a good one. The more people test it, the more chances are to find bugs and report them so can be fixed in time. I don't have to earn anything, its a beta not early aces or something like that. If you don't know what a beta is then better don't post anything.

Please see my previous post. You don't need to buy one to test one. They want feedback from The Poors™ as well.

Okay, is this post saying that the normal, not-Beta game will update to the new version on 30th April, bringing any Beta progress you've saved with it?

The reason I ask is, I'm not on the Beta and I'm assuming that this post is saying that Beta testing is now completed and the new content will now go live. I just bought a load of prismatic shields and I'm wondering if I need to store them all on ships to avoid losing them in the update?

(I don't have more than grade I power plant engineering access yet, or any idea which ships I want to eventually use them with)

No, the live game will not be affected until june-ish, and that will be the game itself, not your save.

The beta will use a copy of your save, that copy will be taken on the date given in the OP. Beta is separate, no progress from beta affects your live save.

'What happens in beta stays in beta', so sell all your ships, burn through your cash, do anything you like. Just make sure you are doing it in the beta & not the live game ;)

No!

Beta 1 has finished so no one is in that and anything that was done in their has been deleted.

Beta 2 will start in May anybody who joins in will find their account has them in the same location and with the same resources that they have on the date of the OP.

The update is going to be sometime after May and apart from any mishaps due to bugs will not affect anything you own in the main game.

If they want only a few to test it then why i should bother to join the beta? They could do a closed beta and invite only few people. Why should i bother to test and fill reports if they don't really want everyone to test it? If i have a carrier i can test it as my own and also join other carriers to test them, but if i don't have one i can only test only few basic things like dock, undock, buy, sell, click on windows, nothing about management, jump etc

Grinding for beta, how sad.
Seem to have run out of stick metaphors.

Play your own way, let them play theirs :)

We do not usually get to find out before-hand when the beta snapshot will be taken for most betas it doesn't matter. For this one, for some players, it does :)

I seem to recall actually paying for beta privelages a long time ago.
I wonder what perks we should get since the beta is open to all.

Been here since prembeta so quite familiar how things have been.
It is a welcome change to have notice on the snapshot considering the credits required.
I do however feel there is a huge manipulation of the players to get online and grind LTD/credits.
One wonders if a board meeting at the company is imminent?

You paid for Horizons beta access. I had that too. IIRC the last one was made available to all, but I got access to 1.4 beta too, so swings & roundabouts ;)

ETA No perks have been mentioned for this particular beta, I presume there are none this time.

Yes that is correct but i think there are plenty of players that can afford a carrier or one of the new assets. Beta-testing includes landing and all the other stuff too. Not everybody needs to buy a carrier to get the beta done.

Personally even as gloomy and cynical as I can be I find the effort required to come up with anything negative about a timely warning to be too much of a grind.

It is well known that some players are pushing to get enough credits to get a carrier in this beta letting them know just how long they have is a nice thing to do.
