Who are we?

Greetings fellow Commanders

Perhaps other more enlightened commanders of the void may be able to shed some light on our plight:

We are two Commanders, both triple Elite pilots but collectively we have no recollection of our formative years or early life but have only two possible clues:

Apparently we were born in the Teorge System one of the outlying Old Core Systems, and we've the strange Pilots Federation Commander names of Hems303 and Hems762

We are not sure what the significance of the numerical parts of our names are, but have found reference to Old Earth military calibre bullets i.e .303 in & 7.62 mm

Is there any help out there in our search for .......who we are?

IRL: 1 player, 2 commanders (accounts) gets confusing in game, at times, lol

I recently came across the ''Teorge 'Clone' Lore'' and thought ''erm... good back story to my commanders that are recently both triple Elite billionaires'', but when I stand back and review; they are pretty identical in just what they've achieved.... clones in fact!

I think I'll have to turn Hems762 to the 'dark side' lol

Rummaging through a collection of lost and forgotten half empty cargo canisters stuffed below the deck plates of her space ship. A youthful female voice echos from below.

"Hems you say?.. yes that name sounds familiar. Pretty sure I have something on that subject, you can find all sorts of useful rubbish in crashed ships."

Mrs Nova crawls an all four through the pipe works under foot, followed by clattering noises that reverberate though the hull as she moves crates of collected material and oddities she has amassed over the ages from picking the bones of derelict ships.

"Ah ha! found it."

Returning from below Mrs Nova pulls her small frame out from the bowls of the ship. Standing upright she brushes a few locks of curled blond hair away from her cybernetic right eye, leaving a black grease mark across her forehead.

"I Believe this is what you are looking for sir. The last recordings from a pair of destroyed ships I found on a planet near some strange structure in deep space."

Opening the square shaped holofac, an image springs to life running a recorded video from a mounted camera under the nose of a ship.
Starting with a black screen displaying basic data information. Title: The Hems brothers log. July 4 3305 , Project: Aegis Appeal for Survey Data
The recording then opens up with a vista of a massive alien structure known as a barnacle siting quietly between the flood lights of two ships on a airless planet. A pair of men with similar builds walk up to the structure in EVA suits. The recording is eerily quite with faint distortions in the image that comes in pulses, which could be due to old age or interference picked up during the capture. The video depicts the two men examining the structure, making notes on hand held data pads while collecting samples from the glowing green flower structures which protrude out of metallic rock formations littered around the site.
The interference pulses seem to be increasing in frequency on the recording, as the image distorts further skipping forward in time by a few minutes. The pair of men halt what they are doing and look up out of frame. The flood lights of the commanders ships flicker out as if low on power, while the camera feed struggles to capture the events. The men stand frozen in place as an eight pointed star shape shadow creeps over the land pitching the site in total darkness. Suddenly without warning a blinding green light fills the entire area followed by the first audio picked up by the camera. The image shakes and distorts with in a high pitch howl, which sounds like a herd of elephants wailing in pain. Moments later the green light dims slightly as the recording picks up the two men being lift off the ground floating towards the light flailing and struggling against the abduction .The holofac cuts to black, ending abruptly.

Mrs Nova visibly shutters in response to the recording.

"Poor souls, no telling what happened to them."

A moment of silence from Mrs Nova as she looks blankly at the holofac. She follows by regaining her normal bubbly attitude while holding out her hand to the other commander.

"That will be two thousand credits. Hope you find what you are looking for."

Clones aren't supposed to exist, and you aren't supposed to know that. That's why your memories have been altered and you are allowed to live out your life as anyone would. Or maybe the actual reason was because it concerned the ethics of life, when the project was abandoned.

I've heard rumors about your kind, how clones were a part of the exploration efforts before the FSD travel. It was much cheaper and more practical than generation ships exploring far outside the bubble. Project Dynasty comes to mind. But that was a long ago. I wouldn't know how and why clones would still exist. But as far as I'm concerned, any radical experiments have to do with the Thargoids, which The Club knew about even before most people and even some in Federation government.

Just... try not to do anything drastic now that you know. Oh and... I would watch out for anything that could potentially "activate" you... If you are what I think you are...

When I was an active duty officer in the Federation Navy, I've seen some redacted documents pertaining to the Formidine Rift incident. It's history now but... it involves some human colonists and Thargoids. And as we all know, Thargoids are possibly masters of biology. You see where I'm going with this...?

Thank Grethá Zeta Mrs Nova for the info...that really did happen to Hems762 but he was in his SRV and as far as I know he dropped back to planet surface when the eight pointed star departed the scene... he has been a bit 'odd' ever since.... I have left the G₵2,000 for Mrs Nova; Behind The Hot Water Pipes, Third Washroom Along, Victoria Station, London, Old Earth, Sol System.

P.S. This Clone Business is very worrying!

@hems303 already wrote a book, it is really good. i found a link to it from his signature.

Thats why he called the character i used Gretha jokingly, That character from his book is similar in respect to cybernetics.

Perhaps. I still need a good first name for the female character. Her husband is Den Nova. so i can confirm her last name.
Any suggestions are welcome.
She is old imperial to the core. endorses debt and indentured servitude (Husband does not, supporting "unchain" they bicker about it all the time)
Has military ranks with the empire and quite proficient in hand to hand combat.
She is small framed, attractive build and quick. (Partly because of cybernetic replacements due to an accident)
-- which I'm thinking would be explained how she obtained them in the story, not starting with them--
She has aptitudes in mechanical engineering, as she was a student under Den who's profession is engine research and design.
Better at single seat ships, more control over combat. Multi crew she can lead but prefers not to. Feels safer risking her own life over the crew.
She enjoys the latest imperial fashions, as an escape to the typical dirty work of ship maintenance, and missions.
Her attitude is overly lady like when in imperial company, but aggressive with non imps, assuming they always have something devious going on.

Yeah i already had Mrs Nova in the game with vague character background in back of my mind before reading your story, that's why i instantly fell in love with Gretha. The moment she came on scene I sat up in my seat thinking. "wait a minute .. this character sounds a lot like.. oh.. nope never mind Gretha has two mechanical arms.. and the cybernetic eye is on the wrong side. clearly a different character."
Still waiting on the Gretha prequel story.

Terra Nova was a whaler and polar expedition ship. She is best known for carrying the 1910 British Antarctic Expedition, Robert Falcon Scott's last expedition. The name Terah means Wanderer and is of Hebrew origin. ... Traditionally a Hebrew male name. The name Terah can also be an alternate spelling of the female name Terra/Tara.

'Super'.... perhaps shortened to 'SP'... i,e Espey (Sue/Su Nova... just sounds like she won't be around for long!)... fictional naming conventions are tricky...looking at her picture; whatever you decide, it should be a powerful name.

Definately 'Shreya' has a real ring to it! ... and her husbands diminutive would be; 'Shrey' which sounds cyber too!
