What game would you most like to see given a modern remake?

Alien Soldier. That thing was the BOMB back in the days.
Grandia 2, one of the best RPGS of all time, with a unique game-play mechanic that even today has not been bested.

I could have added Seiken densetsu 3, but it has llready been remastered recently. :)

Total Annihilation.
& Medieval Total War 2.

Both have more recent descendents, but remakes building on the core strengths instead of chasing fashions, would be awesome.

Sid.Meier's Gettysburg was paced just right. Everything after in that style just didnt attain the original balance.

I'll second this and add on Sid Meiers Alpha Centauri, Sid Meiers Pirates and Colonization.

Never played Gettysburg (One of the few I missed growing up somehow), but the pirates and colonization remake were good (Needed a mod for the civ 4 remake of Col to make it come alive and give it depth can't remember the name offhand but it was good. Would like to see it get its own dedicated game and not a civ mod version).

Wait, Pirates! had a remake? When? How! I need to look at it.

It's amazing, maybe one of my favorite games ever.

I played a ridiculous amount of that on my PSP, great game!

It just struck me that the three games i'm playing right now (Elite:Dangerous, Black Mesa and Doom Eternal) are remakes or sequels. What games of the past would you like to see remade with modern graphics?

My top 3 would be.

Interceptor (combat flight sim, perfect balance of sim and game, in my view)

Stunt Car Racer (ludicrously over-the-top stunt driving game)

Carrier Command (best action strategy game of all time, in my view).

What i'm talking about is taking the production values of a modern AAA game and applying it to a basically unchanged game from 20+ years ago with relatively few changes to gameplay.

The Sentinel.

2005? Hahah, okay, I was massively asleep I see. Thanks.

The Sentinel.
That would be an interesting one to remake - the gameplay depending on the slow panning of your viewpoint.

It was also one of the games in the best twin-cassette compilation box I got for my ZX Spectrum - Starglider 2, Elite, The Sentinel, Tetris, and the crap one I only played once (ACE 2) :)

Utopia - Creation of a nation. There was never a game that recreated the feel of colonization of an alien planet as well as this one.

Dune - One of the greatest adventure games of all time. I actually played in on an Amiga emulator a couple years ago and finally finished it.

Syndicate - I still can't believe how this game wasn't remade yet. There were a couple of very poor spinoffs, but nothing even remotely close to the original.

As for a but more modern games, I'd love to see a remake of Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion, like the Skyrim Special Edition. I suspect Oblivion and Skyrim were the last great Elder Scroll games, before the era of microtransactions / passes / games sold in many little pieces took over.

I can't imagine that game ever being made by a modern studio. It's stately, tactical gameplay would be totally alien to modern gamers. It's like when some one made a platform puzzle game - what was it called? - oh yeah, Portal and people had their minds blown by how "original and amazing" it was. 🙄
Portal incorporates 3D puzzling, fast-pacing, narrative and has excellent sound / music.. Portal 2 even more so. It's not just puzzle platforming.

It's time for a remake of that remake!

That one is still the best piracy game ever.
