It's no problem... Like I said I love a good analogy so it was as good excuse as anyMy post was messed up I was quoting someone else.
WHAT? RIGHT? HOW ARE YOU RIGHT?My post isn't about VR it's about changing genres from a space fighter to an FPS. I don't have VR, and I've always believe it would fail as a niche, and I was right.
It's not a question of affordability - its a question of content. To stick with the theme of Cars for an analogy, our grievance would be more akin to having whacked down various stage payments on a yet to be released porsche (buying previous updates and cosmetics from the store), for whcih we had also bought a couple of sets of alloys and racing tyres for trackdays (VR headset / flight controllers) only to discover a few months before release of our much anticipated new model of porsche was going to be powered by a 0.7L 3 cylinder engine from a smart car.If you cant afford it, dont pay for it, simple. Don't rubbish content you cannot afford. Thats like rubbishing someone that can afford a Porsche but only has finance for a Toyota.
Fdev have been giving us free stuff for 5 fricken years man
in addition to just being cool. i can think of a few ways for ship interiors to be made usefull and have gameplay features. one way is having an armory room where you go to equip yourself with weapon loadouts and armor, picking up grenades or whatever will be there for us to play with in combat, before heading out of the ship. that sort of thing. For those who want to walk around the ship, what is the proposed gameplay purpose of this? Other than "it sounds cool".
But Apple computer owners could still play the game by using bootstrap to run a dual-boot into windows and run Elite that way, ergo their hardware wasn't locked out.
I still love my PS4 despite now having a gaming PC, FWIW.People who drive porshes usually do rubbish us in our chevys and hondas. At least thats how its always been around here.
I meant around Pittsburgh. Rich people treat middle and lower class people like a lesser species.I still love my PS4 despite now having a gaming PC, FWIW.

While I disagree with your proposed analogy, it is far closer to the mark than Dark_Wheel's aspersion that VR players were up in arms because we could only afford a Toyota when we really wanted a porsche.I think the analogy is more akin to you having gone and bought a set of alloys and racing tyres and finding out they won't fit on the new model of Porche.
You now have the dilemma of keeping your current Porsche and using your tyres or buying a new Porshe and not using your tyres, but possibly still being able to switch back to your old Porshe with the racing slicks on it.
It's not changing genres. I don't believe they are scrapping the space flight and the SRV when Odyssey comes out.My post isn't about VR it's about changing genres from a space fighter to an FPS. I don't have VR, and I've always believe it would fail as a niche, and I was right.
The Lion, the Witch and the VR WardrobeIn the analogy competition Narnia is still winning.![]()
No, the rumour is that comes with the 2nd patch after launch...It's not changing genres. I don't believe they are scrapping the space flight and the SRV when Odyssey comes out.
You're on to something there. The Lion, the Witch and the VR Wardrobe![]()

Dude, you've been about the game long enough to have seen every quote/statement/interview with David Braben, so I won't clutter this post with quotes/videos etc... But given your long involvement with the game, how can you not see that VR has been touted as a core feature of the game since they baked it into alpha release in December 2013.But its a game, not a long term contract to have the same features. If you build your PC around one game then thats on you, not the developer surely?
A refinement:You're on to something there.
