Fleet carriers are a epic fail in one word

Hello commanders now mind you this is only my opinion. As I see it fleet carriers are only a time and credit sink they hold no real value in game. Now there are many players that will disagree with me and that is fine but that dose not change the fact that fleet carriers being indestructible is not only a imbalance in the game but a big wast of time. There is no real strategic value to them there was a no true emergent gameplay value to them. They are only a Vanity item for those who grind and grind and grind like mad men. If Frontier wanted to add something special and dynamic they should have made them be able to sustain damage. At the very least be able to drive the management or up keep cost up. But once again frontier has shown that they develop elite dangerous for solo and other players.
Well rant over that is all I have to say. Fly Strong Commanders.

That being said, carriers do not take anything away from the game, they just add options to those that want to use them. So it's all positives without negatives.. Ofc people that can't afford them will cry since they can't get them for free and have to actually put some work in.

That by definition is not a fail, let alone an epic one. How about you don't use them and continue to live your life?

Yeah add more grind to their owners by making them pay "fun" of "emergent content providers" that really makes FC's popular. Even better make them fully destructible so that owning FC would be sure way to bankcrupt yourself. Blech.
 
They absolutely have to be indestructible. Because they are persistent, and will still be in the game while their owners are logged off, unable to defend them.

They are also peristent across modes. If I choose to play in Solo, I wouldn't want some jerk attacking my Carrier in Open just for the lulz.

Many of us never wanted them to be persistent though.

You do know there are actually games, that are not a !freaking! open PvP, which you can also play? people like you are the reason we can't have fun Dangerous things

I have no problem with anyone sharing their opinion although personally I could have done without the passive-aggressive mentions of ''Fan Boys' and ''Care-bear players'' to presumably describe anyone who disagrees with you

Aka - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, even though i used the word "opinion" to pretend alternate opinions will be accepted.

So, tell me Viktor, how you going to stop someone blowing up your FC if they are destructible? Even if they were restricted to being destructable only in open.

Going to babysit it 24/7? How many people can you get online to constantly sit there defending it and not doing anything else, just on the off chance that someone takes a fancy to destryoing it? 1 person? I guess more likely no people at all are willing to do that, even if you have a group of 1000 players. Nobody wants to sit around defending a FC when there is a very uncertain chance of anyone attacking it.

And ok, you have 1 person online at all times defending it.... and then a wing of 4 drop in and kill the defender. They will be long gone before anyone else can react.

You'd be a prisoner of the fleet carrier, unable to leave it for fear of a wing dropping in to blow it up.

Dangerous things don't require PvP. ED could be a 100% PvE game, and some people might consider it a much better game if it was.

You know there are actually games out there that cater to PvP, have game mechanics that revolve around PvP, that you can also play?

You know a lot of people actually play ED to relax, they don't care about it being dangerous or not.
