One of the main purpose of the zoo is conversation. Therefore I think, an interesting theme for a DLC would be animals, whose survival depends on the success of their conversation programs:
Building items should be basic zoo items: walls and roofs of bars and wire mesh
If this animal list is not interesting enough to sell DLC copies by itself, Frontier could add an animal which is almost extincted in the wild. There are of course many possibilities, but here is a shortlist of interesting possible additions :
- Père David's deer: Todays population of more than 1.000 descend from the at the time last three fertile deer from the Berlin Zoo in the beginning of the 1900 century
- Scimitar oryx: Extincted in the wild, but a common zoo animal
- Barbary lion: Extincted in the wild, but an uncommon zoo animal. A little big bigger and a bigger mane than the other lion species
- Black softshell turtle: The only know population survived in temple pods in the Indian area of Assam. The State Zoo of Assam is playing an important role in this conservation project, serving as the location where baby turtles are reared for six months. When deemed fit and healthy, and capable of surviving, the young turtles are released into the wild. As of 2016, the State Zoo of Assam has released 300 turtles. Now 16 temples in Assam are helping in this important project.
