Is the patching done? Launcher says servers are OK, but there's been no download via steam and in-game menu says "wrong game version."
Steam always lags behind when there's a new launcher... give it a few minutes and if one is needed it should fetch it automagically. Frustrating, but unavoidable.

In the Launcher, click Options > Check for Game Update. Showing one as available for me.
Aslong as open exists other peoples wealth most definately plays a role. Where do you think the FC's are coming from, mission credits?!

Because the EliteMiners subreddit only contained threads related to exploiting what was quite clearly a bug. System chat was overflowing with "EGG! EGG! All hail EGG!" etc. Mining is still extremely profitable.
I still don't see how does this impact anyone's experience, except for the dozen people that play BGS
Upgrading on my launcher as well. Time for a cup of tea, methinks.

@Bruce Garrido Last night I was struggling to sell all my cargo to a FC and had to do it in in units of 50t until all gone - Do you know if this was fixed in this patch?
It never ceases to amaze me just how ungrateful and entitled some people are.
If you know re-entering the instance or switching to a ship launched fighter is an exploit which allows you to accrue credits at a rate far in excess of anything else in the game, does it really come as a surprise that the developers move to stop this happening and try to ensure that the game is more balanced for all?

FC's are being bought and maintained with these credits and people fly around in ships they bought with these creds, including gankers etc. Now thats 2 more reasons its great they fixed the exploit.
Salt mining is an optional third.
Not without them taking action and dishing out a bunch of bans as well as deleting the credits gained through the exploit.
They can easily backtrack who actively participated in this exploit using their API, lets see if they actually bother to.
If people effectively cheat themself 20bil in a single day and get away with it, im done with this game.
A large supply of Lavian Brandy should suffice.
