Seems to me that if top tier reward is changed to albino animals it is still a net loss in rewards, since all that does is replace animal rewards we got before. It does not replace what was removed from in progress rewards (costumes). There needs to be something there besides small cc rewards for progress. Otherwise you get the low participation we see now.

I didn't know how star rating works neither. It took me 2 minutes to find that information using in-game help tool, therefore I can't say the game is not clear about that. Some may have problems when they don't know how to breed gold golden animal or how to know is the animal is from asia, but this is not the issue with the game nor challenge. The only issue I have is that I can't find those animals in my zoo and I have to click on every one to find 5*... This part is not challenging at all, it is annoying
But I agree that other kinds of challenges would be fun and that albino reward is in fact lose.
Yes, I saw people that thought there wasn't any reward beside the CC (so no animals at all) or people getting mad that they bred gold babies but they had no stars.. I think there was some communication issue around this challenge..
Add to this people who did challenge only for avatar clothes and people who dislike albinos, and here is the flop..

I don't care for them and most of the time actively try to avoid them for most species because I don't like the look of them much. If it was an actual, interesting coat color we'd get as a reward I'd totally be in but albinos are just plain white and boring. Add to that the fact that the market is already flooded with them anyway and it's sometimes harder to find a normal colored animal with good stats than it is to find an albino and yeah, I'd much rather not have even more of them.

I didn't know about the albino-reward either, until I read about it here. Perhaps there should be a better communication, what the reward shall be.

I'm not interested in albinos, so I skipped this community challenge (and most likely more in the future)
Personally I think it's a mix of not knowing or not caring about albinos for the community challenge.
I think clothing for avatar is something that is difficult to uphold for every challenge. But something with more appeal would be nice.
Yeah, that's another good one. Feels like wasting your good animals for "nothing".
Even poor stat animals can be 5 stars if you leave them in your trade center. The appeal on all animals goes up while you store them. I have been just releasing 5 star warthogs from trade storage once they hit 5 star appeal rating. Have released 90 for challenge so far.
I gave up on this challenge 2 days in after finding out about not getting a costume so I'm not surprised it failed.
And Albinos are not appealing to me, I released around 15 5* Albino Springboks for this challenge. albeit albino springboks are easy to come by.

So, are telling me I've released 400 animals for nothing because the challenge wasn't completed? 
Moreover it is normal that you do not receive those smaller rewards, after you released a certain amout of animals? As you can see, I only received 11 rewards for 400 animals and I don't know when it stopped but it was pretty early on.
Regarding the new rewards: I really like albinos but I don't think it is a good trade for the costumes. You can get them easily on the market, if you really want to have them in your zoo.
I also have to admit that I released an albino more than once because the stats weren't great and I just chose a non-albino for further breeding instead.

Jup, that is how it works with the challenges. If the goal isn't reached, no rewards
I have also over 2 miljon cc, you can get it way to easy and therefore the challenges are nothing special anymore. I mean: with that ammount of cc, you can buy every animal that you want.
Well that sucks, hat is best part of clothes.
TBH if the rewards are just CC or Albinos then i wont bother , I have not been able to do all the challenges due to RL commitments but the outfits for me were the only reason i did what i could , I have absolutely no interest in albino animals as if i wanted any i could look on the market and buy them

Yes, I agree: albino rewards don't make sense in franchise.

Albinism is an umbrella term that covers a variety of genetic pigmentation disorders. So i dont really see why this is a reward, this game is about realisme, like with the big habitat space that polar bear have in this game, then we should not be happy about albino animals, since they would not likely live a Long live in Nature.. i stoped doing the Challengers after they stopped with the cosmetics, since i dont see any reason to do them anymore sadly... Hope this gonna be change again...
They already changed it. You can get a Shirt and Pants in the current Challenge
