ANNOUNCEMENT Community Update July 2020

Honestly at this point, there is a backbone missing in this game. A driver, a cause, a plot.

Braben made his childhood dream come true. And I hope he is enjoying the fruits of his labours, but for the rest of us, we're struggling to find our way in this game. It is as if there's a private party going on in Braben's game and most of us don't get it. I tried my hand at all the different things to do and it gets very very tedious after a while. What never gets boring are the sound effects and the music. That is really nice and I love the Hardpoints and how the different weapons and mining tools sound. Great job on that. But there are only so many times I can bear doing the same things over and over in this game.

Then having those things to do nerfed, so that they aren't as rewarding is not a good move. I've just wasted the past 2 hours core mining for pretty much enough money to pay for my fuel and loadout. There isn't much else going on, because I've collected the millionth Black Box, received fines, claimed bounties, blown open asteroids, travelled to a far star sytem and back, engineered ship systems, googled how to get to an alien ruin, rescued a life support pod, driven across a bland, empty ball of rock and it's getting to be pointless, because it's the same deal every time and what for? Nothing happens. There are a fair few things to do, that's good - but it's the same short-lived, un-rewarding task that I honestly don't feel like doing in my precious spare time outside of work.

I had such high hopes for this when I backed it, now I feel left out in the rain. There needs to be something other than the same 'community event'; gather x amount of x item and deliver it to x place... honestly, is that all that's going on? Making a Galaxy that is inhabited by sentient beings who are able to traverse that galaxy, should have some kind of story going on in it, something to really aim for. Not grindy tasks and empty galaxy.

"We choose not to allow access to the Moon, or include VR, or maintain community goals or intestellar initiatives, in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because those goals would require we organise and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are unwilling to accept, one we are willing to postpone, and one we intend to dodge, and the others, too."

Sorry, I had a feverish dream last night, where DBOBE became president of the USA.

Bla bla bla always the lame announcements of the announcements. I expect more disappointing news. So far no VR, no base building, no walk inside ships... so in August maybe more

August is an entire month.
How about just saying you'll release more info during Gamescom.
Seems easy enough.

I agree. 'August' instead of 'August 30th' sounds better for them to say now, but all it does is give (inexperienced) CMDRs hope that there'll be news during the first half of August and we'll see another load of unpleasant posts when they are disappointed.

What a joke! I mean this. You CM's and FDEV have zero QAQC people and expect us the player base to do it for you. This Founder I am sure after the patch debacle of the Fleet Carriers ruined everything in the game will most likely not bother with Space Legs. I am slowly running out of Tritium because you people ruined mining too far.

Like I said what a sodding joke. You expect us to take you seriously after you ruined the mining game for explorers too much. As far as I am concerned your reputation is in ruins.

I am very unhappy with what you people released on us fine folks who backed your game years ago.

FIX IT! before releasing more bugged code on us.

Too salty? I don't care anymore.

CQC BOTS?

Just make more reasonable content. The game has enough depth of the underlying mechanics. Just make something that would entertain players. Work on the Thargoids/Guardians plot line. Give us some real sites to explore (like the Thargoid buildings).
