waiting for them to fix mining before playing

Anyone know when they are going to fix mining?
I can't tell like if this is just how mining will be in the game now, or if like the two weeks I played from July 2nd to the 14th are the way mining is.
I got the game on the 2nd of July.

If it is that good, then I want to play for sure. Star Wars something just dropped for free though, and I don't want to wait around for them to fix mining if they aren't going to.

update 1: I don't care what the game is or isn't meant for. I only got it to mine and two weeks after I bought it, mining broke.
update 2: Thanks Madrax, I'll go play that Star Wars game then.

As it stands, they're aware that hotspots aren't working as intended and tritium has been adversely effected as well:

This is all we have so far, so a fix should be coming soon. When that is, is still up in the air. However, if you're expecting mining to come back as it was during the gold rush, that won't be the case. It will still be lucrative, just not at godly levels. Balance and all that.

No date given.

That being said, you realise the game isn't a mining simulator right?

What if some like and want to do that ? it's not PVP simulator , but if tomorow PVP become totaly broken , I guess alot will complain/stop the game.

And dont tell me pvp dont earn money. PvP reward is PvP itself , mining reward are credit, and to be part of some community.

Imagine if they had given more way to use ore , like station repair/construction ect. WoW a whole new gameplay loop coming for an already established player community.

Nop they "accidently" killed it. (i'm not talking about the crazy money making , that ofc had to be nerfed).

Elite is about freedom to do what you want. Mining became really nice , even without the huge payout . Now it's back to surface only.

I'm confused... If mining is your actual end goal, then why do you need it changed? Plenty to mine if you're primary goal isn't profit/hour.

I guess I'm just asking for clarification of what you're wanting fixed?

I left the game until it's brought back to a more reasonable mining yield level. I am enjoying a revisit of GW2. A game that actually rewards you amply for your time and efforts.

Mining is 'fixed', it WAS 'broken' before. Now it is how it should be....

So i guess , bugged core , hotspot being clodspot , and SSD being so rare and so empty that surfacing one rock is better than 2 or 3 ssd is totaly fine.

Profilt is somehow the aim , but not to be LTD egg broken, also how you make this profilt is important, as much as i like chill surfacing , SSD+ Core + surface was really engaging , and the whole system with FC , miner , and trader was really fun to watch/be part of.

What most of people want to be fixed is how mining work , aka hotspot yeilding the ore they are supposed to yeild for explorer or solo miner , overlapp being stronger than hotspot so bubulle have some "known system" to mine, core not being bugged so they give less chunck than surfacing 2 rocks ect.

Tbh on the old system ( pre patch 3) with actual prices ( nice debug of demand , totaly cool and wellthougt btw , 2K commoditie for 2K players\o/) would have been fine.
Nerfing LTD price but still being profitable , could have done the trick.

Buffing other jobs , and other ore may also have made the game more "diverse".

Many solution out of killing a part of the game that worked.

Tritium trading was profitable , not to the LTD extent but it was really nice to play around that . And it was killed too.
