That, and many youtubers got to play AC:Valhalla and Watchdogs and the feedback seems rather positive. After this really dry spring and summer, the end of the year and the beginning of the 21' starts to look rather promissing when comes to Ubi.Announced yesterday(?).
Looking forward to Farcry 7
Be prepared for a horrendous amount of cutscenes with actors spouting close up moody and utterly pointless dialogues into camera. I liked the game...hated the inevitable cutscenes that refused to let you have fun before they interrupted the flow at set points making them unavoidable.Trouble with Far Cry, and Ubisoft in general is they keep churning out the same game in different environments. These days I get bored long before the end so I think they are only worth getting in a sale for under a tenner. I saw Far Cry 5 is £7.49 on epic store at the moment, even at that price I'm hesitant to buy it. Probably will though.
Might give it a miss then, even at £7.49, maybe when it gets under a fiverBe prepared for a horrendous amount of cutscenes with actors spouting close up moody and utterly pointless dialogues into camera. They took a good game and ruined it.
I really miss the Trigens. They really added a bit of spice.
I never finished 3 or 4. They get boring after a while. In fact I got bored with 4 only a few hours in. That's why I'm not prepared to pay more than a few quid for another one. Other Companies such as Rockstar or Bethesda seem to be able to keep their open world games interesting for longer (to me anyway)I loved the first, 2nd was excellent as well (although it gave me serious motion sickeness with sprinting), Havn't finished 3 yet and not got any othes!! So many games so little time!
I really must get round to finishing off FC3 and trying 4.......sounds like I'll defo give 5 a miss, unskippable cutscenes WTH?!!
While I agree fully and it's quite funny, I'd also like to add that for people who love this kind of experience (me), it's quite alright. I think the old AC fans are a bit peevish about the 180 that the games made with Origins and Odyssey, making them "a FarCry with swords", but honestly, it's one of the best open world systems out there. I very much prefer it to the open worlds with more inovative mechanics that are quite barren aside from that.Money on yet another game with some bare bones hunting/survival mechanics, some kind of animal pet and to top it off claiming/clearing outposts/towers.....
Wait....
I think I accidentally decribed assassin's creed as well. Just with less stabby stab. Good news is, I am sure it will be a grand open world with tons of pointless collectables.
I swear ubisoft is absolutely terrified of new ideas.

You know, I have a friend who is a game developer. The sad thing about his existence is that he knows how the games are made and therefore when he looks at a game, he only sees the code, the engine and the mechanics. And he can't play and enjoy games because of this.Or is Far Cry just Assassin's Creed with guns? Hey but more power to the people that enjoy it. Best and most entertaining imho of each were Blood Dragon and Black Flag.
Giant maps filled same-y activities from the past 3-5 games just doesn't do it for me. Probably the same reason ED/NMS lost its appeal for me. Once you realize that it is just a giant randomized galaxy filled with a handful of different activities. All sense of wonder just evaporates to repeatables with set dressing.
Some people love it, able to create head cannon or stories to inject life into an otherwise predictable game. I am somewhat envious of people with that ability.
