Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

He's gone beyond such petty concerns as "particular year" or "release date." Chris Roberts is now a creature of pure energy and intelligence with no shape or form. No wonder he hasn't popped up on a video stream since last year! Those things are hard to light.

He's the bartender AI!

I was going to suggest that a space game creator trapped in his own game would make a cool black mirror episode, however as usual I realised Brooker had already done it with USS Callister. However even that failed to realise the true horror of unfinished Alpha with characters clipping through scenery, standing on chairs and NPCs responding to your requests after odd five minute pauses.

That number is the maximum negative number in signed 32 bit binary plus (coincidentally) roughly 100 million. How they messed that up I don't know, maybe mixing up types I'm not sure.
And they arent either :D They reinvented development to a point where variable types are a thing of the past. Joke aside, this is an incompetent beginner mistake, and this one is visible in plain sight, it says a lot on what's inside more important and complicated code (physics engine, networking..).

People were getting into the quadrillions of credits (maybe even quintillions) so the wallet will hold bigger than a basic int.

The wallet may but the calculation would have been made in seperate step and stored. Like I said I'm not sure but something has got mangled up along the way, maybe in the retrieval of the gift amount.

I'm not familiar with the credits system but on the website it says that 29 trillion has been earned by players in total, are some players buying loads with real life cash?

I've no doubt some are still buying UEC from the store...albeit as a bit of a pointless exercise since aUEC is so easy to earn (or exploit) in game. There are more than a few exploits :)

To anyone who's seriously interested in SC!
I've got a offer for anyone who is seriously interested, the total melt is $655.00, I'll accept $550.00
Contact me via messaging here IF your interested.

Is it your fleet, or are you playing middleman?

I thought you were in for less:

It's ironic how though I've invested 170.00 into Star Citizen I'm considered nuts by some.

Hope you haven’t spent more than you shoulda on this carnival N. (Genuinely!)

Oh I remember now, theres different types of credits. That, along with the melting of ships, LTI and what have you, this whole business is way too convoluted my my poor brain, especially at this time of the morning!

Edit : How easy are the exploits btw? ;)

The SQ42 video is still coming (probably in the next few weeks), along with an assortment of other updates, including an overhaul to our Public Roadmap...
This new Roadmap will drastically change how you follow the development progress for both Squadron 42 and Star Citizen.

With the Squadron 42 Beta starting next quarter, it seems odd that they are spending all this time on a roadmap......

Beta is right around the corner!

The player trading app where you send other players credits is new in this patch.

Lets say I have 100,000 credits and you have 0. This is the current exploit.

I send you 100,000, and when I hit send, I press the send button as fast as I can.

The transaction will repeat a few times (usually 2 or 3), so you end up with 200,000 or 300,000 and I have zero. (well, there is a 5% "fee" so you actually have a little less, but keeping the number simple).

You send me 300,000 and press send as fast as you can.

Now I have 1,200,000 credits and you have zero.

Keep going until you get sick of it, or you overflow the wallet and go negative.

Oh, I doubt it. I'm guessing "trying not to spit-take while sipping cold brew" is going to continue being my de facto way of following the "development progress."

That is a really poor update hidden behind a lot of words. The defensiveness sprinkled throughout is almost petulant.

Something that’s often not seen externally is the actual amount of time and effort it takes to put together the video content we regularly release.

And they get paid a good deal of extra money to do this, the subscriptions literally pay for this and if they sold subs on that premise they should damn well deliver their end of it...

The new Roadmap is something we hinted at in March but because that is still very much in development,

Ok, now it is obvious he is talking poo-doo. If they are all-guns-firing on Sq42 why would they not have a roadmap put together to assist them?
How can they still be struggling with their roadmap months and months after initially talking about it?
If they cannot get a roadmap together how the hell can they get a game together?

we can’t share as much about it as I would like.

Uh huh, and why is that Zyloh? The likelihood is that there is actually nothing to share.

Believe me when I say I’m personally very eager to release it to you.

Trust me... trust the empty words I have for you.

2/10 Zyloh, very poor show. Try harder next time!
