🐨 Planet Zoo: Australia Pack coming 25 August, 2020 🐨

Thylacine was wiped out by humans, uncontrolled excessive hunting lead to their extinction :( there was even bounties placed on them, they were accused of killing livestock though it’s thought these claims are exaggerated.

Urufu is correct in saying that the introduction of dingos played a role. They competed for food and territory in the thylacine's niche.

This pack is looking awesome.
Cassowaries are one of my favourite birds. They're proper kick-@ss and look like dinosaurs. I also love dingoes, and Blue Tongued Skinks are adorable. And the koala and kangaroo will be fantastic.

I have to admit I haven't played Planet Zoo since the start of February, but I think this pack and what sounds like an amazing free update, has made me excited to play again.

Thanks for all your hard work Team Frontier. Love Ya!

It looks absolutely amazing! Sadly I've never seen a Cassowary in personal, but on the pictures I've seen I never observed such a "glossy" look. Are they maybe wet? I've read that Cassowarys need to have have a opportunity to take a bath to mate, so I would assume that would be the case.
🤔 Didn't thought that they could be wet on the Picture. I hope so, because normally they don't look like that. Also didn't knew that they need Water where they can bath in to breed, so thanks for that Post

I get the feeling the 'brightness' has been turned up on a lot of these pictures to give them a "sunny, hot, Australia" feel. The dingo looks a little too vivid in colour as well.

Would it be possible for visitors to walk thru the residence of the kangaroos?

I've been wondering this as well.

Red kangaroos are typically more territorial and aggressive towards intruders than the more docile eastern grey kangaroo. For this reason most zoos create walkthroughs with the grey kangaroos, or only wallabies which are far easier to manage. However, the kangaroo/Australia walkthrough is a very popular exhibit design, so I wonder if Frontier will compromise on this and ignore the less safe aspects of the red kangaroo to appeal to those who want to build that way.

Still a few days.....

Yeah I agree.

Some Photoshop to make it more appealing. (even a small change in contrast/brightness improves a lot)

Just have to wait a few days - don't expect any confirmation when it's release date is almost due.

Ohh I don't expect a confirmation either. Just curious about everybody's thoughts about it.

ok, cool.

I think they will compromise on this one to please both type of players - most people preferred the Red Kangaroo and people want to create a walkthrough habitat.

most people preferred the Red Kangaroo

I'm not sure if that's the case, or if the red kangaroo is just everyone's go-to "default" when they think of kangaroos. It's certainly the most visible and iconic of the kangaroos, after all. I'm sure a lot of people don't even know there are different species. Personally I'd have preferred the eastern grey, but I knew without a doubt that we'd get the red - it's just the more obvious choice.

I'm only referring to the people who posted Red Kangaroo in their wishlist.
I just assume if they posted "Red Kangaroo" they know the difference - otherwise they would just posted "Kangaroo".

Personally I think the Red kangaroo has a slightly more appeal to me. But any kangaroo would be nice. Not picky on that one.
