I remember there was a video in witch some developer explained that. It was hilarious, I can't even understand how in hell the Citizens watching that cold not see how stupid all the video was.
found it:
Yep, remember that one. What a joke. Witnessing how backers swallowed this was an even more utter shock.

OH NO!

@Agony_Aunt you are going to be so disappointed!

Notable Changes for August 28th, 2020

Elevator Panel Updates
We took a little extra time on early UI work which pushed the handover for these updates past their intended completion date. For this specific card, Props & Art needed to complete their work before handing over to Design. With that work complete, the task has been passed off to level design and, with such a tight turnaround, our Level Design does not have enough bandwidth to get the work in before 3.11's branch day. The majority of our level designers are focusing on other 3.11.0 tasks that have been deemed higher priority (ex. Space Station - Cargo Decks), and we made the decision to not pull them off of that work. Because of this, Elevator Panel Updates has been moved to the Alpha 3.12 column.

Missile Operator Mode
We've decided to move Missile Operator Mode to release simultaneously with additional improvements to missiles we have planned for early 2021 in order to make a bigger and more comprehensive impact on the missile gameplay at once. This card has been removed from the Roadmap, expected to release alongside missile improvements in 2021.

What, precisely, is the bandwidth of an elevator button?

It's not quite the infrastructure I'm used to - but presumably there must be a bus and interrupt of some kind.

I'm absoloutely unconsolable.

By the way, you asked for a source for that quote earlier. Miri DM'd me it:

Its a fancy way of saying the team has too many other things to do and no time to work on game changing features like the elevator panel rework.

“Props & Art needed to complete their work before handing over to Design”

It's called a placeholder. It's called spec sheets. It's called greyboxing.
It's called not being stalled by things no intelligent and sensibly planned process would be stalled by.

Maybe hiring kids out of kindergarden isn't the best way to explosively expand your company for no good reason.

Its worth remembering that they had those panels previously at 1 out of 3 tasks done. Meaning whatever they had got thrown out or.... they were not giving correct information.

cool, more interested in see the responses.

not sure why searching on Reddit doesn't find that one post.

Because reddit search is about as good as trying to search for technical help on Microsoft's site? It used to be a running joke in IT that if you wanted to find info on MS's tech site the best way to find it was to Google it.

In somewhat other SC related news, apparently BoredGamer is going to start streaming ED.

Alledgedly he said ED has far more developed game loops than SC and SC should copy them.

This is BoredGamer.... uber shill for SC.

To be honest, i'm not sure how i feel about him streaming ED. If he starts shilling for ED i'm not interested. Give me OA with his blend of cautious optimism and pragmatism or hell, even Yamik's with his outrageous sarcasm.

Oh, apparently he has joined FD's NDA program.... big if true.

BoredGamer will be promoting that other space game.

Ah, super. You got the source.

Man, i can hear his brian hard at work carefully selecting his words when he's talking about ED. But he did talk about ED being a released game and SC being alpha, and not in the usual manner of SC already having more content than any AAAAA game out there.

This is going to be interesting to see develop. As I understand to get onto FD's program you have to create positive content around it. Its effectively a marketing kit. I dobut FD would give him a pack if they were not sure he wouldn't give them good press.

Bought and paid for?

Will be interesting to see how his followers react to that.
